Today while my mom and I were sitting on my back deck, we heard some birds chirping alot. It sounded like they were talking to each other. Then we saw one and we weren't sure what it was at first, but then realized that it was a female cardinal. She was so pretty! Then I had the realization that she probably had a baby somewhere near. So we started looking around. Then, on the roof, we spotted a baby bird...very small and it looked like it's hair was all messed up
So we sat really quietly and watched them. Momma was trying to teach her baby to fly! He finally made it to a tree not too far away and she kept going back and forth coaxing him to fly. Unfortunately, it was getting dark and we soon lost sight of the baby. It was so awesome to watch this!
I have a couple of pics, but they are pretty blurry...but you can make out the baby. I could only get pics while he was on the roof.
