Men and Women ARE NOT EQUAL

Check out this story, if you wanna.

Now let me ask you, if a 29 year old MALE teacher had sex with a 13 year old FEMALE student, does ANYONE believe he would have spent 198 days in jail, then been released and told to behave himself?  Where is the feminist outrage?  Or, more importantly, where was this woman when I was 13?  Okay, she wasn't born yet but that is hardly the point.  Where was some woman LIKE her?

Some kids get all the breaks.  I can assure you, I was alone for every single sexual experience I had at 13.  Life isn't fair.

Are you looking for some disagreement Billy?  You won't get it from me.  The bottom line is that a sexual predator is a sexual predator regardless of the "equipment" they have, and anyone, male or female who abuses children this way deserves to be locked up indefinately.

Glenda, I am shocked.  Have you ever known me to post "looking for some disagreement?"  [;)]

I agree with Glenda... she need the book thrown at her [sm=flamethrower.gif]

Gotta say, Billy - we're on the same page with this one.  Sex between an adult and a minor (and I'm not talking about 18 yr. old boys with 17 yr. old girlfriends) is either illegal or it isn't.  Since it is, the punishment should be the same regardless of who is doing what to who. That woman is a sexual predator.  Our society is just so used to thinking of sexual predators as men, we forget that women can fall into that category, too.

Perhaps the original judge was harboring school boy fantasies as well.  Whether your comments are tongue-in-cheek or not Billy, I believe it is exactly that type of attitude that somehow makes it more "acceptable" for women to molest boys.  You won't hear too many grown women sitting around lamenting the fact that they weren't raped/molested when they were children.

I agree Billy.  Actually, that is exactly what I thought the first time I heard about this.  People like this make me sick and then when they get away with it with VERY little jail time, that is just ridiculous.  She should be locked up and they should throw away the key!

Probe come on if that was your son you wouldn't think it was right, lol.  Regardless of sex it is wrong.

I don't think there's any gray area in cases like this. Doesn't matter what the sex of the offender is, it's wrong, unhealthy and very detrimental to the mental health of the child. Underage sex with a child, boy or girl is child molestation. That lady should have gotten a much harder sentence.

in this state they just passed a version of "Jessica's Law". some of the changes that were implemented seemed like good changes. for example, a habitual sex offender now faces the possibility of the death penalty in this state. however some of the wording seems wrong. in the written law, it is acceptable for an 18 yr old male to have consentual sex with a female as young as 14. however, there is no mention of the reversed scenario or homosexual sex. so i am assuming that if an 18 yr old female has consentual sex with a 14 yr old male, she would still be guilty of statutory rape?

i am not sure where the lawmaker's heads were when drafting this, but i have a pretty good idea as their head's seem to be there the majority of the time.

Yes. With prision overcrowding, plea bargins, time off for good behavior, no prior history, etc... Prison sentences in general are getting shorter. Murders can be walking out of prison after 5-7 years.

That doesn't make it right, I'm just saying it happens.

This article is interesting too:

I really find it difficult to understand why the woman's mother, in the story Billy posted, tried to excuse her daughter's behavior by saying she was being abused in her marital situation.  What woman in her right mind turns to a young teenage boy for understanding and comfort?  And if she's truly a sex addict, wouldn't she be out having sex with any number of people, not just one kid?

I've never understood an adult wanting to have sex with a kid.  Heck, I barely had developed *parts* at 13.  I don't know that most 13 year old boys are mature in that area of development yet - what is the attraction?  Eewww...

People are just sick.

I wonder if PERHAPS how one looks at a situation like this might be more of a gender thing, actually.  It looks like only women responded to the OP???

Believe it or not, I really do think men and women look at sex differently.  Men are basically pigs, when it comes to sex.  [sm=flamethrower.gif]Women are a little bit higher life form here.

My point is I wonder if MANY fathers might look at this situation, if it involved their son, quite differently from mothers???  I will say, it is hard for me to imagine that any real, long term, damage would come to a boy in this situation.

Good grief, there's only 2 or 3 active male members that I'm aware of; that kind of skews your response pool.

I dare say most child psychologists would disagree with you. 13 is nowhere near mentally mature, particularly in males since they mature much slower than females. Obviously.

I think it is difficult not to look at any situation from the perspective of one's gender.  I can only think from a woman's point of view, having never been a man.

And I think you are right, men and women look at sex differently.  I believe it's for the same reason men and women think differently - our brains are not wired quite the same.

As a father, you might give an "attaboy" to your young son for scoring with his female teacher, but how would you react if the situation were reversed and it was your young teenaged daughter with her male teacher?  Would her level of trauma be different because she is female?  Would yours?
