    Homemade Treatments!?

Okay guys I've been searching about this a lot lately because I love stuff like this at home.  But I came across an egg white mask.  It has apparently been around for a very long time and is well known for its ability to temporarily tighten skin and remove toxins.

Just get an egg white and beat it with a fork until frothy and apply heavily to face... a few coats.  Then wait 15 minutes or until dry and rinse with warm water.

This feels SO weird!  It really doesn tighten your skin.  Im young but I could still notice it... and FEEL it.  I was reading reviews about it online and someone said its kinda like Botox lol.

It made my face really soft and tight, and is supposed to be one of the best ways to cleanse out the pores.

There are also many others I have found for oily, dry, combo skin.  Some to brighten skin... all kinds so if you want them Ill posts them let me know.

Do ya'll have any that you like?[:D][8D]

I've read about the egg white mask before but never tried it.  Sounds pretty effective (and certainly cheap enough [;)]) so I'll have to give it a try.  I need a good remedy for making my feet (heels) not so dry.  I'm not putting vaseline on and wearing socks to bed in summer, so any other ideas are appreciated.

Try the egg its so weird... Im doing it now lol and did it last night.  Make sure you try not to move during it though and that you wash with soap before.

Heres one I found for the feet...

    Overnight Foot Masque
    1/4 cup Almonds
    1/4 cup Dry Oatmeal
3 tablespoons food grade Cocoa Butter
    2 tablespoons Honey

Process almonds in a blender or coffee grinder until finely ground.   Set aside.  In the same blender, pulse your oatmeal until of the same consistency.  In a bowl, combine ground oatmeal, cocoa butter, honey and ground almonds. Rub into your clean feet, step into cotton socks, and leave on overnight. The next morning, remove the socks and rinse feet in cool water. ;Pat dry. We recommend you not remove the socks until you're standing in the tub!

I think Ive also heard that vegetable oil and olive oil are better than vaseline...

I used to use egg white masks all the time as a teenager!  It was a great, cheap, non-toxic way of dealing with typical teenager skin issues. [:D]

I wish I would have known that when I had acne.  I went to the dermatologist and all when I was about 14 I guess, it never helped.  They just went away one day.  Now I get an occasional pimple around that time of the month.

Im bad about skin care, so Im trying to do good for my face lol.  After I took the mask off last night my face looked great I think I will do this before going out from now on.

It pulls my face so tight while its on my mouth opens up lmao!

LOL I will try this tonight. My sister is coming camping with us so it will be something for us to do.

Plain honey is good for oily skin too... just rub it on and let it dry.  Thats funny I never would have thought that.

If you get the occasional pimple, put some toothpaste on it....not the gel type but the regular paste type. Leave it on a few hours. The redness, swelling and itchiness will disappear and your pimple will clear up twice as fast!

So what other homemade/natural/non-toxic treatments do you all like?

Rose geranium essential oil repels ticks!  A few drops on a nylon dog collar or on your socks or shirt sleeves does the trick. It really does. I can't believe it.[:D]

I just discovered coconut oil for skin and hair. Mmmmmmm, yummy.  I have eczema in the dry season, and medicated creams barely work after long periods of treatment.  I put coconut oil on for two days, and it's clearing up already! (Roscoe and Bella like it too... so beware. You might have dogs following you around licking your legs. LOL [8|])

And then this one I recently discovered (WARNING: TMI TMI TMI, especially for the boys)  Apple cider vinegar cures vaginal yeast infections! [sm=blush.gif] Take either internally or externally! [sm=eek.gif] Either drink a couple tbsp twice a day for a few days or wipe a saturated cotton ball all over.  The second method hurts like he**, but it works immediately.  Faster & cheaper than OTC creams.  I tried it 'cause I figured it worked for dogs' yeasty ears, it couldn't hurt to try. It did hurt, but it also worked. LOL  *Then* I googled it and found out you could just drink it. [&:]

    lol Jen!!

I read you can smash an avocado and put it on your face for 15 minutes... great for dry skin.  I would have trouble not eating it instead though... I love those.

Dilute, dilute, dilute, Jen, LOL. At least, that's what Emma would tell you! I use 1 tablespoon of AVC per cup of water, to pour over her after her bath. Kills the yeast without the sting, and helps the itchies, too.

The same solution will make your hair super soft. Just pour it on after washing, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse it out. My hair loves it.

Apple cider vinegar in your hair?  Just making sure...

I also read the egg whites in your hair are good... I dont know if Id try that one though..

Yup, ACV.... Between ACV, baking soda, and castille soap, you've got everything you need to clean the house, take a shower, wash the dogs, and take over the world!

    Dilute! Brilliant!! LOL!

What's castille soap? I am a big believer in vinegar and baking soda for cleaning. Besides the non-toxic effectivity of it, it's fizzy fizzy fun!

I tried the ACV on my hair, and I love it! It's so soft and shiny.  Who knew?!  (Well, apparently jennie did. [;)] But I sure didn't!)

    1/4 cup Dry Oatmeal
3 tablespoons food grade Cocoa Butter

I tried this last night, but I used coconut oil instead of cocoa butter.  It's WONDERFUL!!  I had dry, cracked heels. No longer! [:D]
