Steve Yzerman.
 
We all knew it would happen but I am still going to miss him so much. I am so bummed. There will never, in these days of free agency and money....ever, be another captain like Steve, in any sport...he was the epitome of class and leadership....and he was never a thug or a primadonna about it either, he belonged to his team, and they belonged to him.
 
He grew into that "C" like most players can only dream of doing...and I will miss his smooth skating, quiet leadership, and intense play every single time I watch the Wings take the ice. Others will imitate him, and that is great for the game of hockey...but there will never be another Yzerman!
 
Here's to you "Stevie Y"...THE "Captain". Enjoy your retirement....you've earned it!
