Best part about soccer is watching "Footballers Wives" on BBCAmerica...lmao!
    • Gold Top Dog
Huh.  I hadn't heard about that show.  What's it like?

    ORIGINAL: komireds

Seriously, why didn't CBS or NBC show the game?

well ABC/ESPN has the rights to the world cup matches in the US, so that is why NBC and CBS didnt show them. they could have at least put the USA games on ABC though. we caught the last few minutes of the game at work, so i dont know how the whole game went.

Is this because you have a Portuguese water dog?  [;)]

Funny this that's what we initially wanted until we found out how much breeders were asking for.  Boomer is a cockapoo and always gets mistaken for a PWD>
    • Gold Top Dog
Wow!  He really looks like a PWD.....
    • Gold Top Dog
I think I'm more impressed that you've met people in public who even know what a PWD is! lol!...are they common in your area? Here I don't think I've ever seen one outside of the ring.
    • Gold Top Dog
I'm surprised to.  I haven't seen one PWD in our area. I don't know how these people know of them.

    ITALY WINS!!!!
    • Gold Top Dog
Yahoooo!!!  I'm Italian, so I was rooting for them anyway, but after the head butt by the French guy, I yelled a lot louder [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]
    • Gold Top Dog
    Andiamo Azzuri!!!

Me, too, Cathy!  Io sono Italiana!  Cento percento!

Can't believe Zidane let himself be baited that way - I'll have to send him a thank you note.
    • Gold Top Dog
io non sono italiano. [sm=cry.gif] but i love the country. i am hoping to move there when i retire (maybe sooner![;)]). my wife and i went there on our honeymoon a couple of years ago, and i can't wait to go back!

i have been rooting for the italian team since the US has been out of the tournament. the head butt was totally uncalled for. a man as old as zidane, who has played professionally for quite some time, should be a little more thick skinned than that.

DH and I are talking about retirement in Italy, too, CycleFiend.  I think the talk started the moment our trip in September 04 did.  It was DH's first time and he became quite passionate about Italy immediately.

We went to a Fiorentina match, but I think it was the season before Tony began playing for them. Still, they won that match, first home game in their first season returning to Serie A - the crowd was electric and the hills of Fiesole were dotted with Tuscan villas above the north curve of the stadium - it was a quintessentially Italian moment.
