Just wondering

    Just wondering

This is probably a really silly question, but my DH just made a comment that made me think of this.

On a recent thread, I think it might have been pet peeves, someone mentioned that this place is no longer called i-dog.  I am wondering what it is referred to as now.  On the main page there are still two references to i-dog and that is how it was on the old site.  I think that is where I picked it up from and I often refer to this internet addiciton as i-dog, but I just wondered if there is a more proper name for it that other people use?

I have though maybe dog.com but that is the sponsor and if you go to dog.com it does not take you to this forum unless you click on it.

to get to this web site, I put in the address [linkhttp://www.idog.com]www.idog.com[/link] so to me at least, it is idog.  However, it may more technically be called dog.com forum as the big banner above states.

The forum used to be called i-dog.  Some habits die hard for me.  I still call it i-dog.  Change doesn't come easily. :o)

About the i-dog message board is the very first topic on the main page.  i-dog member business is the next to last topic on the main page.  Maybe that is why I never knew it changed.....so is it the "dog.com forum?"  I know dog.com is the sponsor and thought they always were but now they were more obviously placing their name on the forum.  Old habits die hard for me too, but ever since I saw that thread, and I welcome a new member, I think about it every time I welcome them to i-dog and wonder what I should be saying instead.  [8|]

Dog.com aquired the forum from the previous owner who called it i-dog.  Where the dog.com is now, it used to be i-dog and it had a different look.  Technically, now from what I see, it is just a dog forum sponsored by dog.com, no real name to it.  Those i-dog threads on the first page, those were carried over from the old forum.

Hopefully, Jamie will see this and clear it up for sure.

As long as us oldies draw breath, it'll be idog!![&:]

Yes, but that drives me crazy because it's clearly not i-dog anymore.  Right on top, dog.com forum, you need to let go Glenda, LOL!

You should come live here, this state is full of people who give directions by saying, "remember where the old. . .is??", [:)]

It still says idog on a few of the subforums. Besides, I-dog wasn't that long ago was it? Only a year [;)] or so...

And, if you put [linkhttp://www.i-dog.com]Http://www.i-dog.com[/link] in your browser, it will take you here. So I still consider it i-dog as well. After all, a forum is what its members make of it [:D].

I'll never let go!!  I'll fight to the death!  I'm an idogger, not a dog.com forumer. [;)]

Truthfully, I think of this place as idog.  Until the PTB tell me that I can't call it idog anymore and that it isn't idog anymore and never will be again, it's idog to me!

    I'm an idogger, not a dog.com forumer

dog.com forumer does not roll off the tongue smoothly at all!!!
    • Gold Top Dog
It sure doesn't...and when you trip over as many words as I do these days, you try to keep it simple!! [:D]

I know it was early march we got these new boards, but I remember it changing from I-dog a while ago.

I will probably always and forever call it i-dog- just because I dont know what else to say! I agree dog.com forumer doesn't do justice to us! LOL. (sorry Lori) I'm a creature of habit-

I'll be more then happy to clear this up for you [:D]

Jim, the founder of i-dog sold the "Dog.com" domain to us, formally known as "Dogs Outfitter". With the domain came the i-dog forum.

We changed OUR business name to "Dog.com" and continued the forum. The older format was limiting with the growth of the company and the ever growing forum so we upgraded the server and format(look) of the forum. Since our domain is "Dog.com" anything associated with the dog.com domain falls in that realm such as the forum.
    "forum.dog.com"

    I still say i-dog too ...

I wasnt around for the old forum, but I have called it i-dog for lack of a better term, or atuclly a lack of ANY other "term".  So, maybe we can think of something to "call" the forum that is one word, like idog... but if thats something that needs to be changed, then make up something else... and dog.com forum or anything like that is too long lol.

Gotta agree with Glenda & Tina here - i-dogger just rolls a lot smoother off the tongue than dog.commer does. [:D]
