4mo old GSD Beaten to death~ Sign petition

I think that petitions have their place and purpose. But I also think that any judge or other elected official is more likely NOT going to be able to ignore individual letters and faxes. this is why when groups get together to fight bad laws and legislation...LETTERS are sent by individuals....along with faxes and phone calls.

Imagine coming in and seeing one thick...but still only one, letter...versus seeing an ENTIRE BAG of mail addressed to you, about one issue? The difference is stark, and hard to ignore. Letter writing campaigns often distrubute key points, and paragraphs to cover/include for people to make the letters easier to write and read.

I think that more folks on these petition sites, need to list contact info for their target so that letters can also be sent if desired...along with phone and fax numbers.

Also bear in mind that if you live IN the state or county you have even more power...why does a judge care what someone in the UK or Spain, or Australia, thinks they should do (sad but true, they likely don't care!)? But someone who can actually vote for or against? well..that makes them take more notice.

Again...this is not anti petition...only PRO doing as much as you can...which is sometimes more time consuming and requires more effort than a digital input of your name. If anyone here is listing petitions...please consider also listing CONTACT info for your elected officials so that people can take further action...it does make a difference from what I've seen on the Pet-Law lists.

I signed. There is no excuse for someone to kill a helpless dog. I really wish the animal cruelty penalties and fines were harsher. I think these people get off way too lightly.
