Dog Breed Mouse Pad

    Dog Breed Mouse Pad

I was over at eBay looking for an English Setter dog mouse pad.  They all want like anywhere between 8-12.99 plus typical outrageous shipping.  Wasn't too crazy about any of the pictures anyway so I declined.  I was thinking, be kind of neat to get my dogs pic on a mouse pad so started searching the web.  I found a great site, you submit your own pic of your dog and they put in on a coffee cup, beach towel, mouse pad, etc!  The mouse pad was only 5.99 w/the pic plus reasonable shipping.  I was glad I did that rather than the eBay generic here's your English Setter...that doesn't even look anything like my dog.

It is NOT my site, but I know that is first thing that comes to mind to some (I am skeptical too when I see people post links to stuff like that) so I would rather not post the link.  I like it though, thought it was a reasonable price and looking forward to it coming in the mail shortly.  I really do want to share the link though, but not sure how you would all take it so if you interested of your dog on a mouse pad do a google search.  I'm sure there are multiple companies out there providing this kind of service.

The feedback from my wife was...before I could finish my sentence...so you sent them a picture of your dumb dog and not the kids...so we have to look at Zoe every time we use the computer...you couldn't put your own kids on there but your stupid dog.  Well, what can I say, she can be mean sometimes...

HAHAHAH!!!!  Sounds like something my husband would say!  Although we don't have kids yet...he loves our dogs to death, don't get me wrong, but he thinks I am absolutley obsessed!!!

Oh thats funny...thought it was just me with a spouse that just doesn't understand.  I guess if it turns out nice Zoe is the test mouse pad.  They warned me the pic was of low quality but it looks pretty darn good on my PC.  I had resized the pic to 800x600 and probably deleted the original which was much larger.  I can see mouse pads of the w/pics of the kids coming shortly.  Daddy daddy do this one...please please please.  Heres the pic I used coming on a mouse pad...  I think its going to look great!

LOL at your wife's comment.  I have pics of my dog and cat all over my desk, and I think one or two of my husband. And he's got the dog on a leash in those.  [8|]

I think you can post the site; I think most of us know you and Zoe and know you're not a spammer. [:D]

You're right, Zoe and I have no interest in Spam. BTW, your photography is great!  I recall seeing your work in the past but don't remember if I told you so.  If you don't mind me asking, what is your choice for a camera when doing your work?  I had received a Canon D60 as a gift from my brother.  He had upgraded to a D10 so it was an extra for him and he wanted me to have the D60 (this is going back a number of years).  A year or two later I picked a Quantaray 90-300 zoom for the D60.

    That's a great idea.  My dogs have always been plain ol' mutts, so something that's breed specific wouldn't work for me. I've had a cocker/poodle/terrier X, a cocker/lab X and now a GSD/lab X. [:D]

Hi, Charlie - thanks for the compliment!! [:D]  I used the Canon Rebel, but I want to upgrade.

One thing I've learned about the Canon Rebel digitals, however, is that some (many?) have a tendency to break after a certain number of images if you use non-Canon lenses.  I learned this AFTER using my Quantaray lens for a couple years.  I had to look up what an Error 99 was on-line, and then I learned about that little quirk. [:@]  Don't know if that's the same for the D60, but I'd definitely look into it.

A friend reminded today, they have these places sometimes in the shopping mall like at the kiosk style booths.  Now, that he mentioned it, I remember seeing one of those booths.  So, if you don't like doing stuff on-line with a credit card, you could always drive to a popular mall and maybe find a place.  You would have to bring whatever media you have I guess to make it work, i.e., compact flash, memory stick, floppy, whatever.  I imagine they could also do a scan of a photograph and it should work, make sure it is a good pic.  Probably takes a 1/2 hour so you grab a Aunt Aunties pretzel (I love the mall pretzels) and get your pooch on something if you want.  I'm glad I didn't go the ebay route with the basic breed style.  I want MY dog on the mouse pad with my pic!

Thanks for the info Jen about the quantaray lens and some canon cameras.  Maybe it's just something with the Rebel?  I never heard about the error message but will keep check on this and be careful.  So did this "error 99" happen to you and did it damage the camera?  When you switched back to a canon lens did the camera then start working correctly?  I guess it's ok because you mentioned you use the Rebel unless you had to buy a new one.

I like my D60!  It's a really nice SLR 6.1 mp.  My brother told me when the first came out the camera body alone, no lens was 2K.  He didn't pay that, but got a good deal on eBay on the D60 he had given to me as a gift a year or so later.  This was like 3 or 4 years Christmas past.

When you upgrade, I guessing your sticking with Canon SLR?  My brother likes he's D10.
