Gina, La Bamba is one of my Favorites as well. My grandfather bought me that movie and I cry everytime I watch it. I love movies about singers.

    Elvis and Me (#1)
    The Buddy Holly Story
    Walk the Line
    Great Balls of Fire
    Ray
What Love got to do with it
    Pure Country
    Eddie and the Cruisers

Gina, I didn't think there was a Hugh Grant movie I haven't seen - but I've never heard of "Maurice."  Is it an older movie, like before "Four Weddings and a Funeral?"  Comedy or drama?  I'll have to track it down.  Yes, his hair is quite something when it's longer - that whole foppish, long banged thing worked for me.  However, once I saw it cropped shorter and messy in "About a Boy," I decided he looked so sexy.  Makes his eyes much more noticeable.  He just gets better with age!

We just rewatched A Christmas Story last night. It's just so funny!

My entire family has a Christmas eve countdown for 24 hours of Ralphie! Jeano, are you the one on i-dog who has the leg lamp in their window? I know someone's posted pictures of it before.

Noo, I'm not the one, though I might do the same thing if I did have one! However, now that you mention it, the leg lamp is my icon for my hard drive! (And has been for some time.)

Powwow Highway is a great movie, I finally got to rent it from Netflix a couple weeks ago. Gary Farmer is so great.

I'm with Gina on X-men. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE comic book movies but Xmen has been my favorite so far. I totally cannot wait for Superman to come out either.

Another favorite of mine are all of the Pixar and Dreamworks movies. Cannot wait to see "Over the Hedge". So far I think Shrek(I, II), The Incredibles, and Toy Story(I,II) are tops. Although Ice Age & IA2 were pretty good.

Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are my favorite horror movies. Anyone here like SAW? It was kinda grusome but the ending was about the best ending I've ever seen in a movie!

Crash was an excellent movie. Haven't seen Brokeback Mounting or Walk the Line but those aren't really my kinda movies. I can't remember half of the movies that were already discussed...this is a good thread!

La Bamba is one of my all time favorites, too.  And I've always wondered about something. In the movie (which I think probably stuck pretty much to the facts) his wife was pregnant when he died.  Is there a little *Holly Jr.* somewhere and did he/she go into the music business? Actually [:D] *Little Holly Jr.* would probably be getting close to 50 by now.

wedding crashers ... hated it (waiting for vince vaughn to be in something as good as swingers)
bewitched  .... hated it would be an understatement
jarhead ... pretty good, not as good as i had hoped, bordered on full metal jacket for the new millinium
must love dogs .... didnt hate it, but almost. i am a sucker for diane lane so i had hope for this one!
charlie and the chocolate factory ... not as good as the original, but not bad either.

What are some movies you really liked cyclefiend? [sm=wink.gif]

I didn't care for Charlie and the Choc Fac. The oompah loompahs were so stupid I was embarrassed to watch.

We enjoyed Must Love Dogs. Light entertainment, cute.

I really like The Full Monty. Have seen it several times. Love Gerald and his garden gnomes. [sm=rofl.gif] I think of that movie and smile every time I hear Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" or Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing." [sm=happy.gif]

Flight Plan was good (not great). Panic Room was good too. I like Jodie Foster. But...I didn't think her part was even needed in Inside Man. That was a good movie though.

We liked all these: Manchurian Candidate, Antwon Fisher, Man on Fire, John Q (really good!).

One of my all time favs is The Usual Suspects.

Can't resist a guy in his dress whites

Actually, most of the movie, he is in tight kahki shorts and a SEAL blue t-shirt.

"I never once saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself."

I'm not Gina, but I'll answer. :)  It's an adaptation of EM Forster's novel of the same name.  I think the movie came out in the 80's 'cause I saw it in the early 90's and it was several years old at that point.

Thanks jensw!  I'll have to track that one down!

I was reminded of another favorite movie after American Idol Tuesday night when Taylor sang "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding.  The movie, "The Commitments" was great - about a bunch of people from Dublin who form a band and they play only soul and R&B classics.  That song was covered by the band - the soundtrack from the movie is awesome.

Oh yeah, The Commitments is a great flick, and I love the band dynamics, too! Been there, done that, LMAO!

It has been out for awhile but I love 'sisterhood of the traveling pants'. It was one of the first times in memory that I actually liked a movie better then the book!

    Bewitched- cute
    Jarhead- it was okay
Must love Dogs - stupid, stupid, stupid
    Wedding Crashers - hated it

I really want to see Family Stone. I also think that I would like Rumor Has It.

Okay... I realize this movie was kinda offbeat, but I thought Napolean Dynamite was great. It makes me laugh just thinking about it [:D] DH and I only have to mention Uncle Rico throwing the steak at Napolean, and we both dissolve into helpless laughter.
