My Labor Day weekend presented me with a surprise.  Some very dear friends of mine from Virginia were in Grand Rapids and called me Saturday to see if I had time to get together.  We met half way yesterday for brunch.  It was so nice to see them - we talked for almost 2 hours.  We keep in touch via snail or e-mail and I hadn't seen them since 1998. 
 
Last night I was playing with Bear, tug-of-war with a fetch stick and he accidentally bit down on my left-hand ring finger when he was trying to grab more of the stick - got me with his molars.  Very painful and bloody.  It throbbed all night long.  Tore open the side of my finger right next to my nail.  I didn't realize how much I use the finger until I got to work this morning and started keyboarding. 
 
Well, I suppose I ought to get to the grind!

Well this morning has started out pretty crappy.  On mile 8 of a 10 mile run, I rolled my ankle.  I had to hobble back to the vehicle & drive home.  Now it looks as if I'll be sitting on my butt all day with my ankle iced.[:'(]  Oh well, things could be worse!

Not at all.  I think it's a wonderful story and one you'll always remember.  I'm excited for you and I'm betting the family is going to be thrilled.  Don't tell them that you shared the news with friends on you dog forum first tho []
 
 

i suck.

i washed and waxed my wife's car yesterday. it has been a while and was badly in need of waxing.

now i am sore this morning. i need to get off my nether regions more often and do stuff. [&:]

Actually I realized that last night when Jim and I were looking at the harbor cruise packages and on some of them you can add on a photographer. He was saying that he wanted to be very choosey with our photographer and so I was talking about all the stuff you pm#%92d me about regarding costs, etc.  I then realized you would likely be in Vancouver then and he said “hmmm… so maybe she wants a visit to san diego.  Plane tickets plus a couple nights hotel  stay might not be a bad trade in order to have someone we actually would want to do our photos.”  []     

Sometimes the best things come to those who wait.

 
Sarah.. I think in this cae you are right!  This past year since my stepdtr moved out of the house, it has really been a eriod of us beginning to focus on ourselves and our relationship. SO the timing is actually wonderful adn whiel my family may have minded the wait, WE have not.

lol!   they won't care, they will just be happy that it is happening and will really appreciate us taking the time to put together a nice announcement party and luncheon for them.  We would tell them sooner but some peopel aren't gonna be in town, so it has to wait till October.  In the meantime some idoggers have been very helpful with my ring questions. []
