• jjsmom06 Posted : 9/3/2007 1:37:17 PM My weekend has been a wash as far as labor day plans.  It is 100 degrees here and the humidity is INSANE. We haven't hardly even wanted to eat all weekend, yet alone BBQ anything.    This morning we took an early morning (7 am) walk with the pups to our cities most beautiful park to assess where we want to surprise my family and DH's with the news of our engagement (DH is NOT LEGALLY my dh, but everyone calls him dh still because we have been together over 12 years).  SO we walked the park, took pictures of the areas we are considering and talked over engagement announcement plans.   Now we are cooling off a bit at home before we go back out in the heat and look at more rings.      I REALLY wish it wasn't so hot. The heat has ruined our labor day plans. We are miserable. BTW- LOVE the siggy Mandy).. So I slept in way too late on Saturday and now I am still trying to catch up on everything. UGH! But, I'm eating onion rings. • boneyjean Posted : 9/3/2007 2:06:32 PM Congrats Shelly!  That is really exciting!  And have fun ring shopping!    The weather here has been a little bit of everything.  We went out Friday night with my cousin and his wife and had a GREAT time.  Last night we threw a birthday party for my cousin who is in town right now and all my family showed up and we had a blast and then my brother took my cousin's wife and I to Kareoke...but the bar was packed and the wait for Kareoke was over an hour so we left before he got to sing.  Today DH and I ate Boneless wings which I have been craving for weeks and then we are having steak for dinner.  I guess the diet officially starts again tomorrow.    The only drag this weekend is that I didn't get to swim...my pool is green and it isn't the chemicals.  There is something wrong with the filter and I am having a hard time getting the repair guy to fix it for me.  Arrgggg!  0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. Normally I would not consider that at all fun - but when it means the kids are moving out!!!!! well what can I say - IT WAS A JOY! We drove our baby (18yrs) to his college residence on Sunday. This morning my 23 yr old packed the car and headed back to university. This is all on the heels of my eldest son getting his own apartment 2 weeks ago. So in a matter of 2 weeks I have gone from 5 people living in my house to myself and DH. [] []hmmm... how much is a plane ticket from over the pond likely to cost Kate?  I REALLY want to use someone we know and we were going to use a friend of Jim's who is a photographer for a local home and garden magazine, but she is also in Jim's a-capella singing group and we want the group to create an a-capella version of Pachelbel#%92s Canon to perform when I am coming down the aisle. Problem is that to get the sound and full body we are hoping for, we actually will need all 5 members (including Jim) to perform it (Jim will actually be singer AND groom...lmao[8D]).  Pretty sure that Mary won#%92t be able to perform the soprano part of Pachelbel AND do our photography at the same time…. And if she CAN multitask like that, then we need to pay her very handsomely for her INCREDIBLE talent!
