Dizzy, loss of balance...

Wow, well I don't know what to say then.  I hope things work out the way you want them to.[8|]

yeah, me too.  thanks Candace.  I'm not sure what I would do if that turns out to be the case.

It certainly could be early morning sickness, but it truly sounds like vertigo to me.  I have a good friend who gets a bout of it a couple times a year and she describes exactly the same way you have. I know that she has some medications that she takes and it usually only lasts a day or two.

My first inclination was pregnancy....go get yourself a pregnancy test and find out for sure.  I have four kids, and with two of them I felt dizzy...my blood pressure actually goes low when I'm pregnant, and it causes extreme dizziness, along with nausea.  Eat a little protein snack and drink some water and see if that helps at all.  Now I'm going to be curious to see if it's inner ear, or if there's a little something else going on.

Not for me.... I have been actively NOT getting pregnant for over 12 years.  I can hope this is not the case I guess.... but I'll find out for sure.  Plus I'm two weeks late.....ugh...

and I'm still dizzy.  Sitting still isn't as bad, but moving and bending and focusing is hard....

Wow, you have amazing restraint.  If I were two weeks late I'd be freaking.  Heck, if I'm a couple of days late I get very edgy......

Since you are hoping that this is not pregnancy, I will think unpregnant thoughts for you.........

yeah... well... it's a long story.  Denial is a big part of this I think....I've been wondering but until today was not really worried....

Do you have hearing loss? Ringing in your ears? Vertigo (room is spinning) or just dizziness (feel "car sick" or feel like you are moving with out the spinning)?  Have you changed meds?

I have had ear problems all my life but everything came to a head in 2001 when I gradually lost 50% of the hearing in my right ear.  FINALLY a diagnosis came in 2002....Otosclerosis.  Fine...had surgery to replace the Stapes bone in my ear.  I thought THAT was it...nope.  During surgery it was discovered that I have Meniere's disease.  Oh, fun.  Meniere's disease is known to cause vertigo (only had one episode so far...sent me to the ER [:@;) Now I live with MAJOR balance problems (had to give up horseback riding which just about killed me!) and I still have trouble hearing (still have a 20% loss in that ear).

My advice...see a doctor ASAP...it could be something as simple as Labyrinthitis or as serious as Acoustic neuroma.

No  hearing loss that I'm aware of.  No ringing in the ears.  When I look down and then back up, the room spins.  Earlier (it's getting better) I would look down and feel like I was losing my balance.

No change of meds in the last two weeks.....

So I rolled out of bed this morning and almost fell over after standing up.  It was hard to walk and swift movements of my head caused a bout of dizzyness.  Plus with that was a bit of nausea.  No vomiting though and after eating the nausea has not returned.  However now, at work, if I tilt my head sideways, I get dizzy again.....  bleh....

Dumb question but did you go swimming or take a long bath?

Water could have gotten into your middle ear...  It happened to me, worst case of vertigo ever.  I couldn't walk down the hall without falling.  Scared the crap outta me too.

I went to the emergency care place and they gave me a dramamine type drug to take.  It worked pretty well.

Nope. Haven't done either in several months or years.

Could be your blood sugar too.  I would go see your Doctor....it can't hurt (well it might alittle but might help more).

    Not pregnant!!!  [:D]

Not dizzy anymore either, but I feel very tired.  If I'm the same way tomorrow when I wake up, I'll go to the doc's.

Whew!  Not that I wouldn't want you to be pregnant, or you wouldn't make a great mom, but I think you're pretty happy, no? [:)]

I have vertigo of varying severity associated with hormonal changes, as well as in reaction to certain drugs. Vertigo isn't just dizziness, it's not quite knowing where you are in association with your environment -- like you are treading murky water in a foggy room or walking through moving water which is always changing direction, with your ears full of noise and the wind blowing you off balance.

I hope you don't have a return of the episode, or that you find out it was something easy to fix![:)]
