Dizzy, loss of balance...

    Dizzy, loss of balance...

So I rolled out of bed this morning and almost fell over after standing up.  It was hard to walk and swift movements of my head caused a bout of dizzyness.  Plus with that was a bit of nausea.  No vomiting though and after eating the nausea has not returned.  However now, at work, if I tilt my head sideways, I get dizzy again.....  bleh....

I had something similar a few years back...some sort of inner ear disorder, but not an infection.  My equilibrium was all screwy and I needed meds for that and the naseau.  Please don't try to drive!

Yes, my mom had that once and she never gets sick or misses work, but she had to stay home in bed b/c she couldn't drive.  It was an ear problem, some sort of infection that affected her balance.

I get this sometimes. Sometimes it's so bad that the room still spins when I'm laying down!

Why did you go to work???? [:(]

I get this often when I fly.  It is an inner ear issue.  They always prescribe me a strong antihistamine and anti-nausea medicine to help clear it up and I always feel better almost immedietly once I start taking it.

Are you having any allergies or anything else?

I didn't drive, BF drove and dropped me off.

Well, because I can function, kinda.  I just can't tilt my head.

I do have allergies and I didn't take an allergy pill yesterday.  I was a little congested this morning but seem fine now and am still dizzy.  I think the term would be vertigo based on the internet.  I'm sitting still and it feels like the room is moving.  Not a lot, but it's not "normal" either.

That sounds just like it does when I have vertigo.  I would go to the Dr and let them access it.  There is no point in feeling bad if it can be taken care of easily.

I only seem to get that after a few drinks...[8D]

But if it continues, I'd see a doc.

Heh, if I'd had ANY alcohol last night, I might have contributed it to that, but I didn't.  But yeah, it's that kind of feeling, only I'm sober.

Um, any one experience something like this during the first weeks of pregnancy?

Hooo ya!  Thats when I did actually get it.... ummm.....[:-]

    Not a good thing?
    • Gold Top Dog
Not for me.... I have been actively NOT getting pregnant for over 12 years.  I can hope this is not the case I guess.... but I'll find out for sure.  Plus I'm two weeks late.....ugh...

and I'm still dizzy.  Sitting still isn't as bad, but moving and bending and focusing is hard....

i was about to say..... i felt like that at work - no i wasnt preggo. i was on the pill[;)] - but one minute i am waiting for the bell to ring, i had ten minutes before work officially started (stupid assembly line production jobs. you cant start early) so i was eating some oat meal... when whoosh! sudden wave of sick to stomach, vertigo, the world was spinning and i was about to fall up... EVERYONE asked if i might be pregnant.. NO, i was on the pill! it lasted a couple of hours but went away by noon.
i dont know what caused it except possibly inner ear troubles. i often have sinus issues and i had mad ear infections as a kid... had to have surgery on them to fix it.

when i was pregnant i didnt feel dizzy or off balance at all. the only time i had morning sickness was when i took a certain brand of prenatal vitamin. one hour after taking it i would upchuck.. after i stopped taking it was fine.

there's other signs of pregnancy besides being dizzy. they're a lot like symptoms before your period starts... but the tell tale sign is no period lol
