Reptiles! Warning, lizards and snakes inside.

I think having a lizard or gecko would be cool, but I doubt I'll ever own one.
We used to have a snake, and he was really nice.  Very laid back. And he was rather small.  But I am little bit afraid of pythons because they are so powerful.  I do like to touch them though. I love the feel of them, as long as someone else is holding them.

I have a sulcatta tortoise.  I have had her since my 10th birthday and she was my first pet that I had responsibility for, so she is really special to me.  Our weather is pretty good so she stays outside all the time except when dad is mowing or it is really cold outside.
I am surpised at how good she looks considering I had no clue what I was doing when I got her.  I think she may be a bit small for her age, but she is in very good condition, so that is what matters.

Oh my! A sulcata?!? We need more pictures of her!

One of my dreams, though Im afraid they get too big for me!

Ahem,  speaking of more pictures.  Still no VC [:(

    Just joking, kinda.

I know someone who had a chameleon.  I don't know what kind it was (I was really young). Whenever I held it it would climb from my arm to the top of my head.  I always thought that was funny.

As requested, pictures of our VC, sod.

You'll have to forgive me for the pictures, Chams are stressed very easily, so they are sort of hard to photograph, she spent our entire shoot trying to get away!

Yes they hatched but a few of them were duds.  We got 25 healthy babies.  They were all sold a few days ago[:D]  I was happy to see them go!  Next year, we are not going to breed the Burmese pair.  We are going to try and breed the Tiger Retics.  The babies are worth more money.  I REFUSE to help with them.  I'll handle the Burms but not the Retics.  They are more likely to bite!

Alieliza:  How big is she?  They get pretty big right?

Bullymom:  Yeah I wouldn't want to get bit either.

From snout to vent shes about 8-10 inches, from snout to tail shes over a foot long.

Veiled vary in size, with males getting larger than females.

Ok, I'll take some pics today hopefully.

They do take a lot of space and can get big.   It is best for them to be outside where I live, so she has a large enclosure.  She would love to roam our entire yard.  If I move out she will probably stay at my parents house until I get a house with a yard.  Keeping her inside would be very difucult because of her need for space, and it is more healthy for her to have natural light and eat lots of grass than be inside and eat almost only tortoise food.
But she is so pretty.  I love watching her and if I go to her enclosure she will come to me begging for food.  She was a great first pet, and she will probably be my last pet too as they live over 100 years, lol.
