I work with two different HS and volunteer at a nursing home with Tyler. And I'm involved with four different rescues. And I work a 40+ hour a week job. Time is such a precious commodity to me that I find it almost sinful to "waste" it, but by golly, I love to sit down and read a good book cover to cover! I love to craft and create. For Father's Day I bought DH a concrete lighthouse that was just concrete. I spent a good many hours happily painting and decorating and turning it into a work of art. I can usually go into a craft store and SEE what a finished product will look like and have a knack for picking just the right polished stones or just the right whatever to make the final project sizzle. That's really the ultimate in relaxation for me.
But, I'm such an active person during the work day that I find it difficult to relax and just sit unless I'm doing something...like crafting, or sewing or something! I often work on needlepoint when I sit down in the evening to watch TV. I love to cook and to bake and in general "create" in the kitchen. I love to sew, but never have time to do THAT. Basically, anything that I can feel like I'm creating something I enjoy.
Gardening and playing in the dirt feed my soul. I love dearly to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine, be it camping (yeah, I know an RV really doesn't count) hiking, even fishing. Or running for dear life from the darned grass snakes who are supposedly more afraid of me than I am of them......
