    I'm so flippin miserable

It's been such a long week. I am desperate to make money. I have 2 kids in school full time one home. I babysit 2 kids half a day 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I babysit 2 girls everyother day full day. It's enough to pay for groceries every week and pay the phone bills. I have sent money away for work at home Bullcrap that I never get. I've tried findind a midnight job, but there are none. I'm cleaning cat poop on Saturdays for $30 for an elder lady. I don't drive my van because I can't afford to. I have been cheap on everything, everyway I know how, and I've frankly had enough. I'm tired of feeling poor. I can't afford a dam thing. I would even take a paper route but they are all taken. I'm, just feeling bummed and sorry for myself. I just don't know what to do anymore. I try and ignore it all and pretend everything is ok, but it's getting tough.

I am so sorry that you are feeling this way ... I can sympathize with you.  Many years ago I was in a similar situation and I never thought it would end or that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.  And, while you are in the situation you truly feel "buried", I know.  This too will pass for you.  I always say it can't get any worse right?  Things can only go up from here.  I'm sure that something will come along for you and things will begin on an upside.  You are a good person and believe in yourself.  As long as you believe in you, it will get better.

Sending "feel better" energies to you.

Well, remeber there are those who do have it worse.  What about cleaning houses or maybe watching more kids?  Getting a job through your kids school?  Keep looking I am sure that you can find something.  Think of all the things you have that other people don't.  I am sure you can find out how lucky you are in many aspects if you really thought about it.  There are people who are starving and those withoout homes.  Keep a chin up...hey you woke up this morning that sure beats the alternative.  You are blessed with children...there are those who cannot have them.  I know how you feel I been there done that and sacrificed alot along the way.  Its all a part of life.[;)]

I truly am so gratefull for everything I have. I am very lucky. I just hate that feeling of worrying about the next pay day, the next bill. I'm usually ok with the way things are, I'm not starving, my kids are healthy. I just need a little break. Where is that darn light at the end of the tunnel?, cause I've been walking down the tunnel for 3 years and havn't had a glimps of it. My life really is perfect, if only I could make an extra $100 a week.

I am so sorry you're feeling this way. I've been there too. There was a point once where I had no job and I had a mountain of bills to pay. I hadn't thought it would be so hard to find a job and it was! I couldn't seem to find ANYTHING. In the middle of it, I broke my ankle and that made it that much more difficult to job hunt. This went on for about 4-5 months and boy, I was panicking. I didn't really know what else to do other than just keep looking. I eventually found a great job and it went up from there.

It will eventually get better. I know my situation is not the same as  yours, but it has similarities. I was feeling pretty hopeless. I wasn't able to make rent. I wasn't even able to feed myself and was actually happy if I ate a can of peas for dinner. I'm not kidding.

I hope things get better for you soon. I'll be thinking about you.

Have you ever thought of working in a nursing home? They are always looking for someone willing to work midnights as a nurses aide and around here anyway the training is free.
The down side is  the training is during the day and the job is a lot of hard work and takes a special type of person.

Ive TOTALLY been where you are.  When we first got married we lived in an apartment and Josh was not working for various reasons and I was in school and working.  It was hell for us.  We could NEVER pay the bills, and I cant tell you how many ways we discovered to eat rice and eggs and grits... lordy we ate grits for dinner so much I wont ever eat grits again.  I was skinny skinny and we were so broke and we each took turns borrowing money from people to pay the rent and bills.... eventually ended up at his parents house for a while... then on to my parents for a while.  When Josh finally got a job I decided to go WAAAAYYY out on a limb and ask to borrow yet more money, $5,000 this time and buy a house.  Very scary to do when you dont have anything to your name (but certainly possible). We did and it was soooo hard to pay that house note and bills but after two years we sold it and made $28,000.  On to the next house... 2 years and sold it for $55,000 profit.  We are now in a beautiful home which was purchased for the value of resale...  When we do sell we plan to buy more than one home and start with the rentals.

Do you own your home?  I know you have kids and all but buying and selling property (even if its your own residence) can slowly but surely increase each time and you will make money just for living there.

I know of people who move every two years (here after two years you dont have to pay taxes on your profit) and thats their sole income.  They are millionaires.  I hope to become this one day but hopefully not have to move.  We love this house so much we are trying to find a way to stay and continue what we we're doing.  Anyway, thats a suggestion if you own.

If your renting... some landlords are willing to rent to own, and if not maybe you can find one who is... that way they are still responsible but you eventually buy from them when you can and all the rent money each month goes towards it.

You will pull out of this somehow... it wont last forever.

I do think that its possible to find a legitimate work from home thing... just dont know how to find them, a lot are scams.

    Bailey sends you kisses!

What about ebay? I made money doing that for awhile.  Where are you? Canada or Ontario California.  I hate that they are named the same.  What are you feeding your family. I learned some GREAT cheap recipes.  Where do you food shop? Do you use coupons? I only spend 40 percent on food using coupons.  I use a thing online to do it with.  You can also find things to sell on ebay at garage sales or make something if you are crafty.  You can do this there is a way.

Sorry to hear you're feeling miserable.  I had a thought though.  My husband and I need to go out of town and we don't have many friends or any family around.  We've been pricing the cost of pet sitting/dog walking.  Have you thought of starting your own doggie business?  (you mentioned some cat poop)  We're looking at paying $15 per trip to have someone take out our dog, feed him and check in on our cats.  I have been thinking myself that this business sounds profitable to me, obviously you're a dog lover [:)].  Maybe you could put an ad in the newspaper, or if you live in an apartment complex that allows pets there might be neighbors who would love that service.  Best wishes and puppy kisses

I feel your pain too!  I have been there myself.  I am sure most of us have at one time or another.

Someone mentioned a nursing home, but a hospital is also somewhere you might find a midnight shift and become a nurses tech.  I think they will train you for that too and the pay is decent.  It is typically 4 days a week 12 hour shifts...7pm-7am.  Another place  I always suggest to people who are lookging for something part time or to supplement their income is Starbucks...if there is one near you.  They pay well from what I hear and the big thing I hear about them is they have good benefits, even for part time employees.  You might not be able to get a midnight shift there but they open early and close late so you might be able to work something out...if that is even an option for you.

The pet care mentioned earlier seems like it would be so fit for you.  That might be your best bet if you can get the word out.

You could have a doggie day care at your house just like some people do with kids.  They can drop them off before work and pick them up after!  That would be so fun!  And I bet a lot of people who use the day care at the kennels would prefer that to leaving them in a cage.

It sounds like you have a child at home during the day, right?  That would eliminate the doggie daycare and some of the other things would require you to pay for daycare.  That's not so awful if you're earning a good wage, but can take a huge chunk out if you're not.  One work-at-home type of thing I would consider would be (assuming you have typing skills) typing term or thesis papers for college students.  I have friends who paid for this and it can be costly but worth it to a busy student.  Just a thought, but at least you could do that at home while the kids were sleeping.

Thank you all so much, these are some great ideas. I do not own my home, we rent. All this landlord cares about is collecting his money. We are trying to get a mortgage but my husband lost his business 3 years ago and we lost everything and had to file bankruptcy. So we are only approved for a $100,000. Which around here will buy you poop. I have applied at a few retierment homes. I'm in no way looking for an easy way to make cash and sit on my butt, I'm willing to work hard and do what it takes. I'm hoping in September I will get a few more kids to watch. Then once my daughter is in school full time I could do anything. So I just have to hang in there for 2.5 years.

Again Thank you all so much.

What about doing some evening babysitting or starting an after school daycare.  I'd say 70% of the students at my school go to some form of daycare after school before the parents get home from work.

Also, to make some money... do clinical trials.  For example... I did one for seasonale birth control before it was out.  It was already known to be effective, they were just doing final tests to see if ppl. got headaches or any other side effects.  Not only was I paid nicely, I received free pills for over a yr. and that was a good savings.  I have also done one where they were testing temptations on smokers.  I was a nonsmoker sample so they have a comparison.  Basically they asked me if I had any urge to smoke when I saw a cigarette. Then, if I had any urge to smoke when I saw a pic of someone smoking, etc.  It was dumb, took like 20 min. and I got paid like $100.

Too bad they don't have any available paper routes. I did that last year for a little bit in order to try and pay for Ash's daycare and kennel visits. Where I'm at, you had to get to the station at 2 AM, wait for the truck, wrap your papers, load them into your car, and go. They gave me a really good route for a beginner. The first time I did it, I was exhausted about 10 minutes into it. It was like dashing and sprinting the entire time. Imagine doing short sprints for about 2 hours straight every morning! It was good money too. The more papers you had, the more money you made. I would say, keep on the paper people because you never know when someone will give up their route. I didn't last long with mine because I was falling asleep at my full-time job and I wasn't spending any time with Ash when I got home.

Let them know you're very interested and give them your info to keep around. Call in every week to check with them. I did this with the route in my area. Sure enough, I called them one week and they just had a driver drop out. So I got to go in and get the job!

Another thing you can try is an overnight shift at like a Wal-Mart or Target. I don't know where you are, but if you have one of those around then you can try that. I got hired for the overnight shift at Wal-Mart once too. It was from 10 PM -7 AM. It was just stocking shelves and stuff. Grocery stores have those shifts too and they pay VERY well.
