A brand-new Harry Potter theory

Oh dear Chuffy. I like the orange revels too....mmmmmm!

The coffee ones are kind of nice too which is odd because Ive never really liked coffee.  And the toffee ones are my ultimate favourite.  But I dont really like the malteser ones which is odd because i do really like maltesers!  Maybe its just because I get cross when I bite into one because they're all crunchy not soft and chewy like the others.  Or maybe its because deep down im thinking, "dammit if I wanted a malteser I would have bought a bag with MALTESERS written on it! grrr!"

    Anyway.

btw, I love your siggy!  [:D]

My main hp related theory is that we're all going to be very very surprised.... and I think 9 out of ten theories will turn out to be just WAY OFF!!!

Speaking of hp theories, I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but before book 6 came out I was convinced that the "half blood prince" was DOBBY!!!  I went round telling EVERYONE that it was dobby, I had this wild, hugely convoluted theory about the first house elves being the first wizards who dared to "dilute" the wizrd blood by marrying muggles and that dobby was the direct descendant of one of these first elves who used to be a really important wizard.... and Hermione and her SPEW was going to have a much bigger part in the books!  Boy did I feel silly when that book was released!  I dont think ANYONE guessed who the hbp really was until the end of the book, I think book 7 will surprise us all just as much.

    LMAO thank you! It seemed...apt!

And I am dying over here....sorry but....Dobby?! Hahahahahaha!

My friend thinks that Kreture is important.  Supposedly, the movie people were not going to include him at all in this last movie, but Rowling said that he had to be put in even if for a brief moment....meaning he will have a role in book 7....
    • Gold Top Dog
He HAS to have a role in book 7. Kreacher has the locket Horcrux, although whether he is aware of the true nature of the locket is unclear.

There must be a twist, though...since as things stand now, Harry could just order Kreacher to give him the Horcrux, and Kreacher would have to.

Wouldn't it be sad if Snape died? I definitely see Harry surviving. I wonder if that door in the Department of Mysteries has anything to do with it. Remember, Dumbledore was saying something about it having the same ;powerful force that Harry has. Maybe Harry won't have to use an Unforgivable Curse.

I'm getting the book as we speak so if anyone HAS to have it before everyone else, let me know! [;)]

How are you getting the book before everyone else?! [:)]

How are you getting the book before everyone else?!

I downloaded a copy.  I'm doing an exercise in self-control.  [:D]  My receptionist was reading it today, and I wanted to see for myself if it was real, and it is (I just looked at the chapters and the length).  I'm not going to read it though b/c honestly I'm too busy to start (have a long vacation coming up) and it's hard for me to read it on my computer.

I pre-ordered a hard copy (w/ some other books I need for my vacation) and it should arrive Saturday, but to my work.  Since I'm at off-site training until mid next week, I won't get my book until Thursday morning!
    • Gold Top Dog
How do you know if the copy on the Internet is the real thing? I'm so very curious... I thought it was illegal to release the book before July 21st. Plus, I read this article about in Time magazine about the tight security that keeps the last book under wraps. I wonder how they get to the book.
    • Gold Top Dog
Some company shipped theirs early (and are now getting sued) and the Internet copy is not a transcript, it's actual photographs of each page of the book.
    • Gold Top Dog
There are probably hundreds of copies out there, if not thousands. All the major bookstores needed to have their copies in time to either sell at midnight on Friday, or ship out to arrive on Saturday. SO easy for an employee of one of them to make a copy go "missing".

    • Gold Top Dog
Me thinks I need to reread the latest books again....  can't remember who turned out to be the hbp....
    • Gold Top Dog
Edit....you might not want me to tell you who the HBP was!
    • Gold Top Dog
Oh I read the book... um over a year ago.  Just can't remember..... was it Nevel?
    • Gold Top Dog
    No, it was Professor Snape.

Benedict I think you are right on pretty much all the way down the line -- I've been thinking almost exactly the same thing all along.  Like you I hate spoilers.

I've been thinking that Kreacher could actually BE a horcrux -- everyone keeps thinking it's a 'thing' as in inanimate object.  But him having it -- I'm absolutely positive he's involved.

Dumbledore may not "do a Gandalf" -- but no one actually saw Gandalf 'die' -- it's different.  However -- everyone keeps forgetting the portraits of the old headmasters -- why won't Dumbledore be in one?  And he DID listen to them upon occasion.
