old vs young

Excuse you!  Please read all of the posts before you make a sweeping generalization about "ALL the young posters."

As I said before, I'm 21, and if you want to get my honest opinion?  This thread was only started to cause more drama.  Nothing more.

    And Dubilpie-- I agree.

If you actually read the thread, you'll notice I took issue with exactly the comment that was red-inked

I did read the thread Rolenta and the comment he made was directed at DPU.... and then you said "I hope someone makes fun of you if you get MS" am I not understanding what you are getting at?  I am understanding you to say that you had issue with him making a slam on people with MS.. is this not accurate?  Perhaps I am simply not understanding your point on this thread.. but I certainly have read the thread, so can you clairify for me please?

As far as what other constitute as funny that is ALL relative. I happen to be of the opinion that if you don't care for what someone else thinks is funny, then you can chose to ignore that person, instead of creating a whole thread based on a comment that was directed at you. I don't not feel this does anyone any good, nor does it help the recent attitude on the forum lately. If you were truly offended then perhaps you should have taken your comments to a pm to billy, or to the mods.

I happen to find his sense of humor as one the best I have ever known, but that is my personal opinion and I do not expect others to agree with it.

My original suggestion to you was that if you don't like a behavior, and it doesn't break forum rules,  then ignoring the behavior actually give the individual LESS power than what it does by starting a thread about said individual.

I still stand by that belief.

Rolenta, I wanted to publicly thank you for your time to send me a pm and to clarify your position in a very rational way. I appreciate that and will be responding to it shortly. [:)]

My ears were ringing.  But I wish my palms were itchy.  Must be new senses that develop with age.

Can a mod please just delete this thread?  I regret making it and I think it should die.

You will get over it. But probably not until you're old enough to realize how true it is.

I'm 43 and people still call me kid or young'n. So, I stand up, listening the pops and creaks of my advancing decrepitude, wait for my back to let go and straighten up and, rather than brain them with my cane (if I used one) or use a pea shooter to lob geritol tabs at them, we may go through a door and I let them through first with the phrase, "age before beauty." When I was younger, the "your so young" thing bothered me. Now, I'm too old to spend the energy to care if someone says that or what they mean by it. But if they want to make a game of it, I may point out that when they were born, the lights were turned on by lighting candles. And their first test must have been carved on cave walls. I figure, if they want to feel that old, all I can do is help them.[:D]

    lol thats funny actually....
my husband is quite a bit older than me, and when he gets that "i'm smarter cause i'm older" attitude i just roll my eyes, sigh and say "daaaaaaaaadddddd!!!" like one of those valley girl teen agers... oh boy does he HATE it when i do that, especially in public.... [:D]

he has a friend that is only five years younger than him and this friend would call him old man allthe time... it got worse when i came into the picture (he and his wife have a huge age diff. too) my husband would come back with all kinds of quips to counter the old man remarks... eventually it started to wear thin... on his friend. this friend was a drinker, a smoker, did his share of drugs in his youth and is paying for it by aging before his time.... my husband can out distance him and out work him any day of the week all day.... and this bothers the younger guy...
