The Warm Fuzzy Game

    Huskymom/Candace,
Her comment about her husband's "gift" will forever reign as the funniest thing I've read here...ever. It was a true classic and I am SO glad she was here to post it! [;)]

To Glenda - Love you for standing your ground as a "tough old broad" and calling this place home through thick and sometimes very thin.  Glenda is truly the grande dame of idog.

Janet - I'm always impressed with her seemingly endless repertoire of links, and her patience with newbies.

mudpuppy - the best non-pro pro on the board most days

jeano - Thank you for the mental pictures of our vast Alaska wilderness.  Maybe through your stories, one more person will know how badly Mother Earth needs us all.

ron -  I love him for his openmindedness, willingness to learn in the name of understanding, and for his candor and ability to be forthright.  And, I'm happy that Shadow belongs to the ranks of happy, unconfused dogs!  Good doggy daddy!!!!

dyan - I love that I still have a black & white through you and Bubby.  Still means a lot.

Xerxes and houndlove - For being willing to share your lives and love with dogs that would confound most people.  They are not stooooopid, are they? [:D]

Callie - I will always be grateful to you and Janet for the help you gave me with Dancer.
You are both compassionate people with high regard for the canine species.

Kim MacMillan - Thank you so much for your patient explanations on the training and behavior threads.  You are very knowledgeable and have a lovely way of explaining the science behind operant conditioning, plus you tend to like to type longer than I. [:D]  You are a huge asset to this board.

Mic (PACLeader) - Your insights as a graduate level behaviorist were priceless to some of the people you helped here (either on the board or behind the scenes), who either couldn't afford, or didn't live near, a behaviorist.  I know that you probably saved a dog or two by your willingness to do that.

badrap - I admire your educated defense of the Pit Bull breed, and if you ever go home to Maine, you'd better stop by here on the way!!!!  Lunch at the Agawam diner?

There are SOOO many people here that cause me to come back to these forums on days I just feel like leaving because I allow a few rude comments to dampen my spirits.

Alieliza- You always take notice of what I do with Ella, no matter how small it is, as a good thing and you give me hope that there is a light at the end of this training/behavior/dog aggression issue. I love looking at your garden threads and NEVER miss an opportunity to look at your WONDERFUL photographs of Tyson. You enjoy Tyson and his breed and don't get caught up in the cloud and fog that can cover our breed and often the over-explaining that goes along with the breed. You enjoy him for the dog he is and I admire you for that. You're such an upbeat person and don't seem to let things get you down. I always admire that quality in people who have it.[:D]

Kelly (Sooner)-you always have wonderful advice and are SOOOO helpful with links to products or articles. You were the first person to congratulate me on adopting Ella and the first person to reply to the thread that I started when I considered adopting Ella. Tomorrow will be a year since I started posting here. I'll never forget that thread. You also gave me ideas on what to get for her. You've been supportive when I've PMed you to complain about people making me mad. Thank you.

Spiritdogs- Honestly, I wasn't sure that I was going to get along with you at first. AT FIRST. I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to stomach such HONEST training advice. I remember when I first started posting in the training section when Ella had that horrible experience with Jerkface up north who popped her prong everytime she looked at another dog. That started my training adventure and learning process. That experience made me realize that my dog IS a dog, but is also so much more than JUST a dog. All the love I had for my dog was magnified 83758576 times when I saw her shaking and hiding in her crate. I desparately posted in the training section and I got REAL advice. Not "sugar-coated-oh poor you" advice. I needed that. Even though dog aggression runs in Ella's breed, you made me realize that it was hurried along by Jerkface's harsh, unneeded corrections. Also, you helped me see that because of that, I had a WHOLE other angle of training and behavior modifications to look at. I have to re-teach my dog her commands in a nice way and set her up for success.
And with Ella's dog attack, you helped ease my mind by telling me it's not something to dwell on and that I'm doing what I can. See, with her training, I get SO caught up every tiny detail and if I'm doing this right or doing that right that I end up doing nothing at all. I wasn't allowing my work with her to flow naturally. And it was hindering my ability to train her.
I don't know if you realize that I have anything to thank you for, but to me, I do. Thanks. A lot.[:D]

Liesje-Thank you for trying out my leashes and I cannot wait for you to get Chopper. I think she's going to be perfect for you. I also agree, strongly, with your stance on dogs being LEASHED in public. Man, I thought we were going to be e-killed in that thread!

Man, so many more of you that I have warm, fuzzy thoughts for, but I have to start my day and I'll return to this thread.

I just want to say thank you to Rupert's mom and Jazzie's mom.  I usually check the board when i get into work and seeing pics of those two boys usually starts my day off right!

Amanda (bevolasvegas)- you are one of the strongest people I know. You are incredibly resilient and I am envious of your ability to hold your head high and brush things aside.  I aspire to have that attitude some day.

Calliecritters has continually shown vast knowledge and an unselfish, uncritical attitude toward helping others.

Mudpuppy has a vast body of knowledge and experience and is a voice of reason.

Willowchow reminds us that even when things aren't easy they are worth it.

I'm bad with names - even when I read them daily so thanks to everyone for listening to my mindless chatter every day ;p

jjsmom - thanks for being willing to give the cliff notes version of the day's happenings in NDR. Very entertaining to say the least.

Ron (I think that's your name) Your "manliness" is always a breath of fresh air among so many women!

lsj-something or other - I always read it as leslie lol. I can't wait for you to get chopper either. Your enthusiasm matches my own when I was waiting to get Neiko. Also I think that you are a very talented photog.

Sooner - thanks again for my siggy! You're so generous to everyone on the board. I know it takes up your personal time so thank you!

Sooner took the time to make quite a few people (myself included) *amazing* signatures, and then took the time to resize them when some concern was expressed! I'm sure it was no easy feat, but she did it for practical strangers! [:D]

Mudpuppy - your bluntness is appreciated. You don't beat around the bush which is so rare sometimes.

Amy (loveukaykay)- I appreciate how down to earth that you are, your resilience and hope that you take to heart that you are a good person and that you deserve the very best and you should NEVER settle for less Amy.

To quote one of my favorite authors, Ayn Rand:

"I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."

      NEVER forget that![;)]

Annie - Your posts are always friendly, with just a touch of silliness. Ok, maybe more that just a touch. [8D] I love your sense of humor and your dedication to your boys.

Joyce - You are a wonderful, strong, sweet woman whom I really respect. I like how once in a while you throw in a little spice to a post that makes me think, "I can't believe Joyce said that!" [:D]

Ron - I admire how you're not afraid say it like it is.

There are so many more people here whose photos/stories I look forward to seeing/reading. Just a small small sample of my favs: Claire/Jazzie, Alieliza/Tyson, Maria/Talus, Marlania/the bin, Emily/Scout, Val/Hawk.

Callie - your kind, helpful advice and encouragement have pulled many a person from a bad place, I'm sure of it. I really admire everything you do for your dogs, and the trust you build with them. Your response to my BF/dog problems was so encouraging - I felt so much better after reading it! And while neither one of them is perfect, incorporating some of your ideas into "Project: Dog-ify BF" has helped a tremendous amount! They're now pretty good friends and play with each other regularly. [:D]
