    Chop chop!

    Before:

    During:

    After!

I feel nekkid! [:D] I'm probably not going to style it that spikey.

[sm=eek.gif] Wow!! I love it!  What a drastic change!  I can't imagine taking that much length off all at once.  My hair is about chin-length now, but it took me MANY haircuts of inching up a bit at a time before I got there.  You are a courageous woman -- and it looks GREAT!

It is a strange feeling to have one's neck bare -- I felt naked, too.  In fact, the first time I had really short hair, I sat in a partially open cubicle at my job, and I had to tell this one guy to stop speed walking past my desk because the draft he created was making my neck FREEZE!  [sm=biggrin.gif]

What a fun summer style, and think of the time and shampoo you'll save!

    Ooooh I like!

I used to have hair so long I could sit on. I then got it cut to above my shoulders. Talk about a change! People were actually angry with me after I did it. But I donated to Locks of Love so once I said that they were morally obligated to not be mad any more.

    Looks GREAT!
And you do have lots of courage - I could never go that short.

But the length really looks great on you!

It looks great!  If I had a pretty face like yours i would go short in a heartbeat, but i need something to hide behind.

    What prompted this?

Thanks everyone! [:)] I keep feeling it. [sm=crazy.gif]

Lesley, I've been growing it out for a while. For the longest time I had my hair just past my shoulders. It seemed to grow pretty quickly, and I have healthy hair, so I thought I'd grow it out to donate it. I've been so sick of it lately! I was soooo ready for it to go.

My clerical staff is doing some research in preparation for my writing of a dissenting opinion.  [;)]

Cute!  I don't tink I'd even have the guts to cut mine that short.  It's not ubber long, but I have a short hair phobia....

Ok Billy, in order for you to gather all the material required for your opinion, here's what it looks like less-styled:

Wow!  that looks great!  I agree that you're brave to go that drastically short.  I donated about 11 inches for LOL & I was still able to have a small ponytail.  I wasn't brave enough to go short.  It looks awesome on you.

I love it!!  You are very lucky to have that option, and it looks awesome!

As someone who has had both very long (bum-length) and very short (1/4 inch) I can say I love BOTH looks!

I really like the unstyled look. The styled look has that "fly-away" split endy look that I really don't like. Sorry, but I hate that particular trend in hair styles. It looks the way we used to try so hard NOT to look! It's a generational thing, for sure.

But VERY smart of you to leave it long in front. Now you can pin it back with cute barrettes when you want your hair out of your face. When you want to grow it out you won't have to go through bangs-growing hell!

    Cute cut!!!

I will say, I prefer that look.  However, long hair has possibilities that are probably best not discussed here.  [;)]

Thanks Jean (and everyone else who commented). I'm totally not one to spend time on my hair - shampoo, brush and dry. I wasn't too crazy about how she styled it, but you know that's how those stylists are. [:D]

    And bangs - no way!

That looks great! I REALLY need to chop mine off, too. But I have this short-hair phobia. I don't know about the rest of the country, but here I think there is a law that all women over 40 wear that short football-helmet style of hair and I have a nightmare that I wake up on my 40th birthday looking like one of the mom-drones.

Plus, I haven't found a wash-n-wear short style that I can get excited about. I don't think I've blow-dried my hair more than 10 times in the last 10 years. I'm not about to start now. And bangs?! Oh heck no. I grew mine out during the Mall-Hair days with the mile-high fried and sprayed to perfection poufs. I'm still dealing with flashbacks at just the thought of a curling iron and a can of Aqua Net.
