Aren't they mega hot? I would think your feet would sweat in them (and haven't even tried them on).

i agree with callie.... rubber shoes just seem hot!

give me a nice broken pair of birkenstocks anyday.

The real ones are not rubber, they are more of a foam stuff and seem to actually keep you feet cool during the day.[:)]

LOL, Rebecca, do you live under a rock? [:D] They're only the trendiest, ugliest shoes on the planet (okay, so I totally want some if they're as comfy as everyone says, but you have to admit they're ugly as SIN).

    Oh!!!! Nursing shoes!!!
Ew. I'm sorry to all that love these shoes.

I'm sorry, guys. I don't mean to be mean, but I didn't realize those were crocs. My mom is going through this thing where she has to have a pair in every color. I just always refer to them as "the new nurse shoe" because I thought that only nurses or hospital people wore them. Until recently.

I have two pairs and neither are real, both were $9.99.  The first is from Target and I don't really like them.  They are pretty stiff but have no cushion and just don't fit as well as my others, which are from Nordstrom Rack and are not stiff at all, but more spongey/foamy and cushioned.  I like them well enough to not want to pay 4x as much for real ones.

I don't care how ugly they are!  I have really wide man-feet and it's impossible for me to wear women's shoes.  I wear mens athletic shoes, mens sandals, mens flip-flops....my fake crocs are nice b/c they are "close toed" enough to count at the animal shelter but are actually wide enough for my feet!  When you are cleaning out kennels, walking dogs, trudging through mud and poop, who cares what they look like?  I also like them for the lake b/c regular sandals or flip-flops fall off in the water or flip sand on you.  Crocs maybe ugly (not to me), but they are not nearly as tacky as water shoes!!

We all have them were I work, an MRI facility.  I didn't realize they were so popular.

I really want those green ones in the picture.

Nope. That's why they have all those vents. It was 101° here, yesterday, and my everything sweated, so that doesn't count[;)] They are also antimicrobial, so they don't smell. They're fantastic, and you know how evil my feet are, Callie.

They don't feel like a plastic, cheap shoe. They feel squishity and mooshy and wonderful.

I don't care how trendy they are, in this case I just don't want to be part of the so called "In Croud", those shoes are so ugly.......[:'(]

And I don't care how ugly they are. My feet are bad encough that I'll wear anything.

    Haha, yeah me too!

I guess I didn't realize that people wear them as trendy shoes.  That is kinda ugly.

My housemate (who does custodial work and things like waxing and finishing floors) introduced me to them.  We wear them on occasions such as...yardwork, going fishing (I hate wearing shoes in the summer, but you gotta have something on in the boat or you get hooked), going kayaking, cleaning animal kennels, something to wear to the out house and back while camping, etc.  I don't buy them b/c I actually think they look cute, lol, that would be kinda weird.  Sort of like you don't buy yellow rain gear b/c it's trendy and cute, and people who need yellow rain gear don't really give a flying turd whether other people think it's cute.  They are functional, and most of my recreational activities involve some element of dirt, grime, sludge, poop, or general wetness, so aesthetics are not a concern.

Oh, and they are not hot!!  I sometimes get stinky feet despite the fact that I wear shoes as little as possible (usually flip flops or other sandals) and wash my feet additional times during the day.  My Adidas sandals and some of the flip-flops will get a little stinky, but none of my crocs have ever gotten stinky.  It seems like your feet would sweat and it would get damp, but they don't.  I don't know why, but it just doesn't happen, at least not for me.

I went and got some. They really are nicer than the fake stuff. I don't really care how trendy they are either, they don't rub my feet like every other sandal I have seems to be doing.

Hmm...I wonder if my 83 yr MIL would wear them around the house.  She has a terrible time with callouses and is always going to the doc for them.

The dermatitis on my feet is the worst of anywhere - my own 'sweat' is my body's enemy.  Ewww, sorry -- 'too much information' I know.  I'll go look at a pair this week -- it would be heaven if they'd work for me.  Thanks folks -- this thread was, I think, super helpful for me.  I honestly thot they were just this years version of "jelly shoes" (I think I still have the blisters from those 20 years ago).

(*thinks* the mind boggles ... ME?? trendy - can the world stand it?)
    • Gold Top Dog
I dont really consider them trendy... I think people like them for different reasons.  I suppose some for that, but they also are non slip and have holes so they are great for boating and things like that.  They are actually great for nurses or anyone who is on their feet all day.  I do think they keep your feet cool, the real ones that is.  I have some Mary Janes that I think are really cute lol... although Im sure some of you would think they were ugly [sm=lame.gif]

Anyway,  I think if your going to get them you have to go for the real ones to see the benefits of them.
