Odd question.

Pierced, just once in each lobe, at age 13.  I do just like earrings and find clip ons unbearable.  But I think I was lucky in that not every person's lobes are ideal for piercing (size, shape, even thickness).  I never had infections and wore all sorts of costume jewelry and some really large dangly sorts.  Sometime about 15 or so years ago, while in grad school and at a conference, I suddenly got one ear hole infected.  I think it was a weird combination of hair spray, a heavier earring that may have aggravated the long healed edges and hot, humid conditions. It kept coming back for a while and I had to skip earrings for a week or two and then carefully clean earrings after/before each use. And for a long time, I stuck to my better sterling jewelry to not add insult to injury. But it healed up and I can wear anything I like again.

But the infection was painful and kinda creepy/icky.  So I guess, unless you really want a piercing, really, really want it, don't give it a second thought!  It is a hole in your body and can cause issues!!

I have 2 holes in each. I had it done the first time when I was 4, then I did it agin when I was 13. I had my daughters done when she was 2 months old or 3 months. I did hers that early because I think little girls look cute with earings, also because if she ever did want it done I would rather get throught the pain and the care while she was young and it wouldn't be a battle.

Had it done in my 20s - one hole in each ear.

    fun question...
two in each ear, done all at the same time when I was 13.
I like to wear small earrings.  For me it's an accessory for work (retail mgr.) just like my contact lenses (nine colors & still adding).

I had mine pierced when I was seven. I had major problems with mine I found out I was allergic to a lot of kinds of earrings. I took them out about four yrs ago when I went in for surgery and never put them back in. Now I can't put earrings in and I don't think I'm going to get them redone

I had one hole in each ear until they got infected.   After the infection cleared and the holes closed up I wasn't about to go through all that pain again.

3 in left, 2 in right.  I have to wear a lot of gold posts because the cheap jewelry irritates my ears, guess I have sensitive skin.  I can wear them for a day but then have to go back to gold or silver to prevent them from getting bad.  I bought a pair of ear cuffs out in Portland two weeks ago and they are awesome!  I'm trying to find the website and will post it when I do.

Plus belly button.  Just got two new posts for that.  :D

"I also have my tongue pierced.  I havent worn a stud in it for a year now but i don't think it will grow over either. "

Geez, I thought it was true that tongue piercings close up rather quickly if one doesn't wear a stud.  So Candace, do you have a hole in your tongue that goes all the way through?

I have two holes in my left ear, one in my right.  Used to be able to wear any kind of earring - cheap, good, big, little - but now have to stick to 14k gold posts or I get a horrible infection.  I always remove them at night - even when I was younger I did.  Had a third hole put in my left ear at the age of 19, but had to keep it hidden due to Navy uniform regulations, so it was a constant hassle with infection and all.  I let it close.

I went to boot camp with a girl who had 10 holes in one ear!  I could never do that - my ears are too small!  Besides, I thought the 3rd piercing, the one I had in the spot behind my lobe, was more painful that the other two combined!
