Missing members thread!-HKDog, et al

Maybe I just  haven't sufficient caffeine yet ... but it seems to me that if you don't like a partiular emoticon, then just don't use it.  And speaking of emoticons, could someone please explain what the heck [sm=jerry.gif] is all about?  Does it mean that the topic is more suited for the Jerry Springer show?

And Ed, you are a better idogger than I--I probably would have sat there and argued that my post was fine and I'm not changing--especailly if nastiness was not my intent.

I think that my post was fine, but when any respected member of the forum can point to it and say "you might want to change that a little bit" I think I have a responsibility to do so.  The reason isn't because my tone was bad, but that the words in question can be used to mount a personal attack.

If in the future another member uses the same choice of words to mount a personal attack, that member could always pull up MY post in the archives to argue his/her point.  So whatever my intent was it could be used to set a precedent that I'm not comfortable with setting.  Besides, the second edit is always better than the first anyways![;)]

...[sm=backtotopic.gif]  Please let's try to keep this thread on topic from here on out...okay?
Questions and concerns about smiley's can be discussed in a new thread, as it seem that some folks might have concerns and questions and more people will be and be able to answer them under a more obvious heading.
    Thanks, all!

Ok...I still miss Sheprano and I now wonder what she would think about the animal cruelty smilee.

Rwbeagles, just trying to be light and hope we are still friends.

DPU the Redwings are ahead 4 to 1...all's well in my universe...in fact it's slammin! [;)]

Let's just keep the topic...on the topic, and all's well as far as I can see.

the best thing that can be done in some of these disagreements is to have someone stick up for you and make an effort to help the others understand. Too often it seems that while someone is trying to explain why they are do what they have to do...others just say its wrong without even paying attention to what the person is saying.

    Very Very True.[;)]

Glenda, you are SO GOOD at being the person to "stick up" for the others....I have seen you do it so many times...before and since you are a modrator. I have no doubt that is why you were asked to be one.  I think that is so important because there is nothing worse than feeling like no one heard what you said

I agree 100% Glenda was there for me the very first time I posted here, and she really calmed me down and helped me out when I was so clueless.. Thanks Glenda.

Probably this is off topic but I think Gina, Glenda, Presonal Champ and *Jill_B* , danehaven and Jamie when she is on the forum now are all doing a great job.

Are we really talking about removing smilees because of animal cruelty?
I had a busy weekend and want to make sure I wasn't missing anything........[8D]
    • Gold Top Dog
Nope....at least not on this thread.
Perhaps it might be discussed on a different, new thread...but on this thread? I think we've returned to the topic as requested earlier [;)]

I wonder what happened to garrettandpaul and pumaward. Also, there was a woman living in China who had two dogs she was hiding them from the authorities or something and had to walk them late at night... I forgot her name, but I hope her crew is okay.

Hi all. No I didn't fall off the planet.
I have been making alot of life changes and needed some time to reflect on things I've done and what direction I'm going to take my life in now. Things are all working out[;)]
Congrats to those of you who have advanced on the forum[sm=drinking47.gif] things have really changed.
Glenda, sorry but I didn't receive your email otherwise I would have written you back. Congrats on being a bigwig now.
Time is a bit tight for me right at the moment but I will return.
Thanks guys, you's are the best.

OK, I really, really miss Debbie and hearing about her beautiful Salukis.

Me too. I think she pops in once in a while.

I haven't heard from Trishanne and Boss and Gracie for a while. Hope she's ok.
    • Gold Top Dog
Lena, I'm glad you posted -- I was just on my way in to say "I heard from Lena today and she's ok" -- you heard me nudge you huh??? *grin*

I still miss some of the people from the old idog.  Calypso, Yintzy, Mordanna, Hill, KatMoon, Yankee, and Lance among others.
I also miss Jen (Roscoe and Bella), Meilani, and Tessa.  Tessa is doing well, judging from her home page:
