I also hope GayleMarie is alright as well. I sent her an e-mail wondering if everything was aright with her and her new baby but haven't heard back. I miss Burskers cute face as well.

Yeah i wondered about Corvus also but i checked that the last post she wrote was on 4/24, not too long ago actually after 2 months of "resting" and writing this on 2/27:

For the record, I'm taking a break until I feel like I'll enjoy the forum again. It's not because of anyone or any event in particular, just everything combined making me feel like I'd be better off if I took a step back for a while. It's as much because of me and my behaviour as it is of anything else. I only posted a goodbye because I really like a lot of the people on this forum and considering I've been quite active on it until now, I felt it would be unfair to disappear and not explain myself. And I don't really want to lose the friends I've made here. I'm not big on internet goodbyes, but I am even less big on internet acquaintances that disappear without a trace.

So it's an FYI thread more than a goodbye thread. All the same, thanks to everyone that popped by to comment. I daresay I'll be back, and now it won't be a "You're back? Where did you go, why did you leave?" thing, but a "WB" thing. I'll be checking my inbox, but no threads, so if anyone pops up with an orphaned hare, you guys can send them to me.

Lena is another one missing in action. I did email her but haven't heard back.

And yes, our link queen, Janet Rose IS back. And, I for one, am thrilled to have her. Not that Sooner didn't do a great job of providing links for us, but it's always nice to see an "old face" return. And I mean that in the nicest possible way! [

I also do miss Sheprano and Rory. What a bright spot on this forum she was. I totally understand her aghast reaction at Rwbeagles. When an Admin or Moderator expresses an opinion the respect for the position carries over and adds weight and influence to that position. I have noticed the Admin and Moderator holding back their passion on issues and also taking the time to express an understanding of the opposing position.

I've just gotta put my two cents in here. MOST of the time all of us mods post as forum members. Period. My opinion might not always be a popular one, but it's MINE, and I'm entitled to it. So is Gina. And I've noticed that when Gina posts as a mod she ALWAYS preceeds her post with "moderator hat on" or something to that effect.

Being a moderator should NOT preclude any of us from being able to join in conversations or debates on any thread. And, my personal observation is that WE don't get much respect.....

Glenmar, moderator hat on, moderator hat off...that is just silly. It would be just as silly to change your display of Moderator under your LoginId whenever you would want to express your own opinion. You are designated as an authority figure and that fact can't be changed at a whim. Amstaffy, most of the times balances the two very well and that is what I was conveying in my previous post. There is respect by evidence of me saying there is.

I do try and learn from experiences, especially when the action causes harm. Yes, that response back to Sheprano is what pushed her to leave and I just got more a sense of how she felt by just receiving that response. Have a nice day.
