So, Sally wears a spiked collar and a fat chain for a leash?  And you run around with your boxers visable above your drooping down past your butt crack jeans?  Oh and lets not forget the wall to wall tats.   Gosh Christinia!  I never woulda guessed that of you! [;)]

I'm so thinking of the little thug like guys.....and with this breed, honestly it's a bloody accident waiting to happen.

You're dead on with everything except that instead of the boxers I have the top of a thong sticking out of my pants--and I'm missing teeth (from the meth use of course).  [sm=lol.gif]

I do completely see what you are saying though, I guess I'm just sensitive.  I've browsed pet finder and found 14 filas in rescue.  I was a little disturbed that not all of the listings mentioned how stranger aggressive filas are.  I guess this can also attract the wrong kind of person---but I think that people NEED to have the challenges that they will face with these dogs GROUND into their heads before adoption.

I work in a place where I see the little thug type people around, and have talked to them, and yep most are drug dealers and users, and few have even heard of a breed other than pitties for this use, honestly.  When they can get pitties for 50 bucks from a friend I doubt that these, or any other of the larger breeds, are a huge concern.  They all want pits or rotties, if they want a dog at all, although one of their "bosses" own a Tosa, and he couldn't even remember the name of the breed, still he wants a pittie, sad but true, this is the one thing that pits will always be linked with.  I do think the only place that these larger breeds would ba a concern is in the areas where BSL is already in place.

Just wanted to add these are the thugs with jeans hanging down, and just starting the tat covered arms, now that they know a tat guy of course.

who put those ridiculous spiked collars on their dogs to make them "look tough"

Hey, I like spiked collars! I really, really want to buy Emma one of those leather, spiked harnesses. One day, one a super special occasion, I will.

Everybody thinks she's a vicious Pit Bull, already.

    I'd use a leather leash, though[sm=rofl.gif]

I have a real issue with people that judge others based on their selection of dog breed

As you know, so do I, sillysally.  But, I think the one thing that people are missing here is that the level of protection that a Fila will provide is so good because they are *so* dangerous to "intruders".  This is definitely not a breed for the fainthearted, or for novices, and is not to be trusted with guests in the home.  The way these dogs feel about strangers is "different", and they are considered strong enough, and fearless enough to be capable of killing a human under the right circumstances.  That's a lot of liability for any owner to undertake.

You know what?  I'm truely not judging anyone for the breed of dog they choose.  BUT when you get to a dog like this, well, gosh, they are a DANGEROUS dog.....they are BRED to be dangerous....and I can't help but think instantly of some of these thug wanna-bes thinking that they are tough enough to handle ANY dog.  And that's just scarey.
