Has anyone's gas price gone over $3.00 yet?

Pricing on the Islands make more sense...there's a finite amount of land and when it's gone it's gone lol.
I need seasons I've discovered...so I can complain about different things every 3 months or so (it's too hot...there's too much pollen...it's too wet...it's too cold...) etc etc lol. [:D]

Part of the whole California gas price thing is the additive requirements to the fuel...to make them burn cleaner.  But fortunately for the left coast, the "california emissions" cars are going to "federal emissions" standards now.

In my area one could buy a big arse house for 2400 bucks a month.......

Don't rub it in![;)]  I can't afford to buy property here...

Looks like it's $2.86 here, from checking that gas website.  I'll have to get some gas tomorrow probably.

I looked at a gas map - why is it so expensive in California?  It seems like the whole state is a different color than the rest.  Is there additional tax or something?

The mortgage on the house we live in, if we bought it now, would be $4000 or more, and our rent is $2400.

you guys need to move to kentucky...the cost of living is cheap...we are living in a 3 bedroom 1 bath with garage, attic, full back yard in a great neighborhood for $400 a month...period.....

Not all of California is sunny and warm all year.  We get down to freezing here in winter, and only a short distance away, is snow.  We get the changing of the seasons here, in regards to trees and plants, and it's horrible for allergy sufferers.  There's also plenty of scorching hot days to complain about [:D]

My mortgage payment's actually less than that.  Our house isn't huge (1950 sf) and altho it's large by Calif. standards, we don't have a large lot (.26 acre), but it's one of the best communities in this area.

There's plenty that I complain about too, but I can't imagine ever living outside of California (unless it's Maui) [:D]

I don't know what it is, but it's been going up daily. The greed of the oil companies really makes me mad. Last I saw it was in the $2.65 area, but I haven't filled up for a week. Lord knows I'll be mad when I go back to the gas station in a couple days.

The gas I buy comes from North Pole, where the refinery is, 11 miles away. ALL the gas and diesel in Fairbanks and North Pole comes from there. And yet we pay more than people down South. It costs them $$$ to ship the stuff down to Anchorage. Yet they sell it cheaper down there. Don't try to tell me something about economics. I know all those arguments and they work for the lower 48 but not here. They actually spend more money to get the gas to Anchorage, and then discount it to them, and have US UP HERE pay MORE as a way of paying for their transportation. We subsidize cheaper prices for people in Anchorage.

Greedy dirty cotton rock suckers all of them!!!

Gas here is flirting with $2.60 a gallon.

Whoa!  Your rent is almost twice what our mortgage is, and our mortgage includes out taxes.

Sick, isn't it? That's why there's four adults living here. [:D]

House is nothing special either. 4 bedrooms, 1700 sq ft..the lot's only a sixth of an acre. It's just all about the location, which IS awfully nice. 70-75 degrees (without humidity!) year round, 5 miles from the beach, 1 hour from LA, 1 1/2 from San Diego. But honestly, I'd move back to Maryland if the people most important to me weren't here now (or if they'd all move back too [:D]). Not that Maryland is THAT much cheaper, mind you. Sigh.
