Favorite Band or Song?

i usually find the best way to phrase this question to get a really accurate answer is, "what's in your CD player right now?"

in my CD player is The Bouncing Souls "hopeless romantic". (which, in case anyone was wondering, was the inspiration for one of my larger tattoos)

    but in addition, i love:

madball, sick of it all, sheer terror, hatebreed, slapshot, the marvels, condemned 84, sham 69, blood for blood, the ducky boys, main street saints, the OLD dropkick murpys, the bruisers, the street dogs, MINOR THREAT, and i could go on and on and on about underground punk and hardcore.  define it as this: east coast, mid to late 80's and early to mid 90's.

my tastes are quite diverse, though and also include:

johnny cash, patsy cline, etta james, most bluegrass, joni mitchell, laura nyro, phil ochs, billy bragg... oh my...

maybe i should just stick with songs?

    "dirty water" by the standells
    "deadboy" by the deadboys
"when i'm gone" by phil ochs
"which side are you on" & "world turned upside down" as performed by billly bragg
    "streets of hate" by madball
    "injustice system" by agnostic front
"underground" by sick of it all
    "walk" by pantera
"sunday morning comin down" & "folsom prison" by johnny cash
"pine box" by some country singer i don't know
"long black train" by josh turner
"break down here" by julie roberts.

    i guess i'd better stop

My cd player has Metallica in it right now.  I love Unforgiven, Unforgiven II, & Enter Sandman.

My musical tastes vary from day to day & mood to mood.

so it looks like you, me and Ron will be the only idog reps at the next concert! [;)]

I have seen Priest live twice, both times front row.1st time was in 82 for the Screaming tour, and Iron Maiden opened for them..I think it was Killers tour.

The second time I saw them in 87..Glad they played alot of the older stuff..
The 82 concert was one of my favorites.

Along with The original line up of Mettalica back in the mid 80's,kill em all maybe..Saw them again for And Justice for All..

Black Sabbath for the born again tour..Ian Gillian had an AMAZING voice, and all the encores were deep purple tunes.

I have seen Ozzy 3 times, but the first two time were great..Diary of a Madman and Blizzard tours.

Also, one of my favorites is Unka Ted Nugent. I've liked him in Amboy Dukes and on his own. He was a good sport for playing in Damn Yankees but the only song they had that really fit him was "Coming of Age."

In 1996, we saw him at what was the Coca Cola Starplex, 13th row, center stage. VIP parking. We got a press kit from a friend at the Dallas Morning News who couldn't make it.

I got to meet him a few years ago. He came through on a tour and was signing books at a bookstore in Dallas. He had to have emergency root canal surgery and could barely make it to the show. So, he came back a few weeks later and signed books. I had him sign "God, Guns, and Rock and Roll" and "Kill it and grill it!" I'm actually taller than him.

I love old Jane's Addiction. I lost faith in the band after Dave Navarro married Carmen Electra (or whatever the lady's name is) and went and played for the red hot chilli peppers. I saw Jane's live in 2001 and the band LIVE opened for them. I was right up front, but the crowd was AWFUL. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL crowd. I had people pushing me so hard from behind I almost couldn't breathe and people were vomiting behind me. There was the "whiny girlfriend" standing behind me trying to convince her boyfriend to pull us back so she could get in front of us and my friend elbowed him back behind us.

I also saw Elvis Costello live in 2005 and I wasn't too impressed with that show either, but that's because of where I was seated. Next time I'll pay the couple hundred to get front row and rock out.
