My turn to ask for prayers for my Mom

I just saw this thread.  Sending good thoughts your way, Glenda, and hoping that your mother's BP is stabilized soon.  245  . . . that would've freaked me out, too!  The in-and-out of the hospital with this type of situation is hard on everyone -- the patient, the family members, etc.  We went through that with my father-in-law some years back.  The roller coaster of worry is tough; you'd wish they'd just keep them admitted until they're 100% okay for more than 5 minutes, but they boot people out of the hospital so fast these days.  May each day bring strength to your mother, you, and your family.

I just saw this, Glenda.  I'm thinking of you and checking for updates often.  If I ever get to sit down tonight I'll light a candle.  Willow sends purple kisses and her new thing, scratching your shoulder with her paw.

Sorry to keep you guys hanging...I JUST got home.  They didn't take her down for the procedure until after 5, but it went extremely well.  We left just before they removed the catheder from her groin, and I spoke with her nurse when I got home.  The bp was down under 120!!  And that's without the nitro drip.

Her doctor was absolutely wonderful....after the nurse told us it would be another hour, Sis and I went down to get a cup of coffee, and came back to find her already gone for the procedure.  When her doctor found out we were waiting to see her before the procedure, not only did he WAIT to start, but took us right into the OR to see her.  Afterwards he spoke to us and explained everything to us and to Mom and then in more depth UPSTAIRS when she'd been taken to a CICU room for the recovery.

Typically, patients are released the day afer this procedure, but he isn't making promises until he sees how her BP does, so likely she won't come home until Thursday.

I've gotta crash.  Thank you again for all the good thots and prayers.

OK, just spoke to Mom and she sounds GOOD this morning.  Of course I've been wide awake since 5AM wondering how she's doing.......I didn't think about calling the nurse until they were already in report so after I called my sister and found out she was awake, I went ahead and called my Mother.  Sis was out for her morning run, saw the lights on in Mom's room at 6 so went up to see her.......She's up and in a chair, with hot blankets on her poor lower back....Mom doesn't SLEEP on her back but she had to be flat on her back for 12 hours after the procedure.....

I didn't talk to her for long since she was eating....poor woman went NPO at Midnite Tuesday and didn't have the procedure until sooooo late and was promised a nice dinner AFTER...well, she got a piece of toast.  Sis fed her the toast a bite at a time, and I stuck a straw in her coffee so she could have THAT ....this is a strong independent woman who was being fed and whatnot by her kids.....thankfully she won't remember THAT.  But you can't really eat flat on your back, not able to lift your head, without some help!

But, she sounds GOOD today.  So much better than she did yesterday.  The BP stayed good through the nite and they've stopped the nitro drip for now to see how it does......

I know I'm a grown woman, but by gosh, I still reminded God MANY times yesterday that we still NEED her, so he couldn't have her yet......
