Things can always be worse. At least being an actor he can afford the pay the bill, right?

Ok, I'll admit it. I love fast cars, I almost cried after reading that, then to make matters worse I watched the video.  Poor, Poor car.

Not to be nitpicky or anything but...

He didn't buy it, he was participating in a special event.
He hit a cone and the wheel locked up on him.

The Enzo is a super high performance car, possibly the closest thing to an F1 car you're likely to see on the road.  Probably only one one hundreth of 1 percent of all the drivers on the road are capable of driving an F1 car to it's limits without crashing.

ETA:  Just to get on the waiting list to purchase an Enzo, one must have bought 3 Ferraris previously.

-and- The carbon fiber braker rotors on that car ensure that every brake job will cost more than most complete automobiles do.

(Not that I'd ever get one of these cars-or want one.  I'd prefer [linkrev=/images%3Fq%3Dford%2Btonka%2Bf%2Bseries%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN]this:[/link]>http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/02images/tonka1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/030115-2.htm&h=501&w=800&sz=50&hl=en&start=12&um=1&tbnid=jnKgVVUL9kWOaM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=143&;prev=/images%3Fq%3Dford%2Btonka%2Bf%2Bseries%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN]this:[/link]

I guess they won't be asking him to participate in this event in the future...  How embarrassing
    • Gold Top Dog
Yep, that had to be painful.......

I think even if I was rich I wouldn't drive a car that expensive......even though I love fast cars.......a Viper would do....
    • Gold Top Dog
only 400 of those cars were built so is not that the owner can go and buy a new one again

oh xerxes, are you a MOPAR man???????????[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

as i understood it, he owned the car; if i got that wrong, OOPS!

but i still say that if you can't handle it, don't get behind the wheel!  especially in a car that's irreplaceable.

No, no, no, I've been a Ford guy since I could walk.  I've been working for Ford for a number of years now.  I just wish they'd come out with some new, exciting cars sometime soon.
    • Gold Top Dog
i say ford for everyday driving and mopar for FAST driving.....

ETA... i've got a nice mopar, but i don't think posting pics here is "on topic"

I saw the video of this on the news last night. All I really thought was if I had as much money as that car is worth I'd be living so good right now!

How nice it must be to be in an income bracket that allows you to be *philosophical* about the loss of a $1.5 million dollar car. [:)] I wonder what company insures that car.

good question!  i'd be willing to bet there's a clause in there that keeps them from having to deliver on the insurance if the car is damaged in an "event"

It said it was owned by the producer (Daniel Sadek) of the film that the event was to promote. It also said he allowed one of his own $200,000 Porsches to be destroyed for the film. He must think this is a pretty good movie!
