I'm psyched... I don't mind getting up in the dark, better to have a nice long day.
I was just reading about DST in the Farmer's Almanac. It said the primary stated reason for DST is energy conservation - moving an hour of daylight to the evening means people stay out & about later and don't use as much energy in their homes (this has been proven to reduce energy, though not by a
whole lot). In the winter, the energy savings would be offset by the need to use more in the long dark mornings. I think the real reason Congress extended it this year is so people will shop more and businesses make more money... but that is fine by me, I love the longer days. The sun is going to be setting at 7:30 in early March!!
