Anybody out there ever use one of the bigname home improvement stores to remodel in your home and have an absolute horror story?
I am fighting with one company right now that my parents contracted to a kitchen remodel (my mother dreamed of doing this for YEARS) in March of 2006--the job was to take six weeks. Well, it's almost one year later and the job is still not done. For the most part, the job had to been done completely over because it was so bad. But the worst part of all is that my mom died from lung cancer in October of 2006 and never got to see her dream kitchen finished.
For my dad's inconvenience, the company wanted to give him a $150 GC. An insult and slap in the face in my opinion. I (because I have been in charge of the remodel since my mom passed) contacted this company's coporate office and they are stonewalling me. I am at the point where I filed with the BBB.
This is such a personal issue for me and it is making me so mad I could spit nails. Anybody ever been through this and what did you do? Any suggestions out there?
