Funny Dog Tales?

I have several funny stories all about any of our pets. The most recent one was with Shannara the pekingese. This was when we were moving from Denver to Texas and in our hotel. At 3 a.m. someone was pushing one of the luggage carts by our door and Shaun heard this. She started barking but not her normal bark. She attempted to make herself sound bigger than actually was. So this bark was really low in tone but not in sound. It was so funny hearing this come from her.

This other story pertains to our old dog Spirit when he was about 4 months old. My husband was eating a bowl of stir fry rice on the floor with a glass of milk. Spirit kept trying to get the rice and my husband kept lifting it up above his head. Well, after a few these attempts, Spirit tried standing on his hind legs to reach but failed. He ended up falling snout first into the glass of milk. So what does he do? He starts to drink the milk. My husband just looked in horror and whispered, "I just can't win."

This one does not deal with a dog but my childhood cat, Runtley. It is amusing though. Runtley was my cat in the way that he owned me. He slept with me. Waited for me to come home from school. Shared a snack with me in the afternoon. He even knew tricks. I had a loft bed as a child and Runtley learned how to climb the ladder. This wasn't his only skill. He could also come when called, sit, stay and lie down.  When Runtley was about 7 months old, he and his sister (Panda), were playing around in the middle of the night and knocked a speaker off of a shelf. Runtley's rear leg got broken. It was able to be put in a cast. The vet told us to keep Runtley from jumping and to have him remain calm. ROFL!!! Yeah right. Within a week, he was back to climbing my ladder with the cast on! Here is the funny thing. Two weeks after Runtley broke his leg, I ran into the vet in the store and he asked if we were keeping Runtley calm and on the floor. How in the world do you explain to the vet, "Um no. He is climbing the ladder into my bed because he loves me." I forget what I did say, but I will never forget that memory. I will also never forget the sound of a cat's cast on a wooden ladder.
