    Thoughts and pryaers please...

Last Wednesday, I was out walking  Gypsy and managed to trip over a broken piece of sidewalk. I fell into the lawn on my face (literally) and have two balck eyes, a bruised cheekbones, head and knees.  I also broke my left pinky.  The scary part comes now: they think I may have broken through a tumor in the bone. I think that it was an old break caused my my last dog jamming my fingers twenty plus years ago and that the finger didn't heal right.  I am PRAYING that this is the case.

The good news is that they think that the tumor is benign.  However, they are doing a bone scan and mammogram on the 14th (Happy Valentine's day--NOT). My neighbor (the doctor I have mentioned before) told me not to worry, but I can't help it. I am totally freaked by this.  I haven't said anything about this before now because I don't want it to seem like I am whining.

The business where I fell is going to cover the medical bills from this. I am working with my finger in a splint and am finally over being sore.  The black eyes are almost gone, but my head and knees are still sore.

To sum it up, I need some good vibes right now.

Lori, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall, the bumps and bruises and breaks, and the complication of the possible tumor.  I'm not going to say "try not to worry," because if I were in your shoes, I'd be fretting big time.  Instead I'll send you lots of good thoughts and healing vibes and keep my fingers crossed that the news continues to be good and your recovery smooth.

Several years ago, I fell while walking Tonka.  I was on a fairly steep slope, and as I lost my balance, I was falling forward towards the sidewalk.  I heard my mother's voice in my head yelling about protecting my teeth that cost so much in orthodontics (that was her big concern when we were teens).  I turned in such a way that I ended up flipping over and sideways and landed full force on the concrete.  I had bruises and scrapes all down one arm and leg, and I could hardly walk for a couple days.  A coworker's neighbor broke bones in her face when she hit the curb when she tripped over her dog (she was elderly).  Another friend had a chronic shoulder injury due to her dog's pulling her over.  It's amazing there aren't more injuries when you think of how many chances there are for terrible incidents like yours.

Again, sending lots of soothing and healing vibes to you . . . take care.

Oh no!  I hope you continue to feel better and that the bone scan turns out for the better.

So I think I understand that there was a tumor in your finger that they found when you fell?  If so, I guess in a odd way it's a good thing so that it was found earlier rather than later.  Many tumors/cancers are treatable when found early.

Good vibes sent your way and Sammy kisses!
