The last sentence really burned me.  He is a buttwipe.  I'm sure Farrah appreciated his comment.

Wasn't that what she was being treated for, though?  Anal or rectal cancer?

Of course she's free of anal cancer . . . she and Ryan O'Neal broke up! Ba, dum bum.

To me anal sounds...um...grosser?...than putting it some other way.  But anus is an official name for a body part, so if there was cancer in that body part, it would technically be called anal cancer.  No?

That's what I thought too - that his terminology was cruder than necessary and more of a shot at embarrassing her.  I think the correct term is "colorectal cancer".

I am pretty sure that is cancer of the colon, and that is not what she was treated for.....

I can't find any articles that confirm what type of cancer she had.  Many of the articles - even up to December - said that she wouldn't say.  Interesting...

I thought colorectal encompassed the whole, uh, apparatus - from small intestine through anus?

Oh, you just made the last 5 minutes of my work day worthwhile!  I actually laughed out loud and it echoed - cuz I'm the only one here... THANK YOU!

It's actually not, she had anal cancer, which is different then colorectal cancer.  It is treated entirely differently as well.  With anal cancer we follow the NIGRO protocol and patients get chemo and radiation, no surgery usually.  Colorectal cancer the treatment is surgery first usually.  :)  I totally agree that he is a jacka$% for revealing it to the press.

Edit: anal cancer is typically squamous in origin and colorectal is adenocarcinoma.
