God help me...

    God help me...

...I continue to horrify myself with my capacity to eat.  Yesterday it was a big plate of Gyros and fries, complete with onions, tomatoes, and that yummy Gyro sauce - and I could have eaten the plate it came on.

Today it was 2 cheese enchiladas with sour cream & salsa, and a side of refried beans and beans & rice.  If it wouldn't have embarrassed me I'd have licked my plate!

Looking at these portions I would have sworn I would not have been able to finish them.  If I am not 200 lbs by the time this kid is born I think it will be a miracle.  But what am I supposed to do, I am really bloody hungry!

I am able to eat two Big Macs, large fries and large coke and i still dont feel full, of course that because i go to the gym my body asks me to eat more to get more muscle, so that could be a solution [;)]

LMAO...do you have a Jason's Deli? If so...do you know what one of their baked potatoes look like? They are huge and mutant...close to a foot long and I am not exaggerating. They then slop them high with sour cream, cheese, butter, bacon, and chives. When I was preggers I ate one of these down to the skin, AND a cup of French onion soup for LUNCH everyday...lmao. Now I can barely eat 1/4 of one and I am busting at the seams.

To put it into perspective...I am 5'7" and before my first PG I weighed 107lbs. When my daughter was born I weighed 153lbs. She was as I mentioned 8lbs and then some. My second PG I weighed about 115lbs going in...and I ended at 165lbs....my son was 9lbs and then some. I am now 122lbs or therabouts...

I am amazed everyday about how much I ate then...and I kind of miss it. I went thru Xmas and Thanksgiving right in the BEST spot the first time..no nausea no compressed tummy...primetime...I ate SO MUCH...I cannot even begin to understand how it's possible.

I was about 5 months pregnant with my first on Thanksgiving. That's a great time because you are out of the morning sickness and you're not really huge yet. I ate everything. I was eating so much before dinner one of my brothers said "You're not going to have any room for dinner." I just looked at him and laughed and said "Are you out of your mind?"

"They" say that you only need like an extra 300 calories when you're pregnant. HA!

Interestingly...my daugher (the baked potato baby)....cannot STAND mashed or baked potatoes (she will gag and try to vomit if they touch her tongue, since 4 months old).

She will eat french fries...and chips...nothing even remotely mushy or potao like tho....it's because of the daily bingeing on Jason's taters...I know it!

If you're really worried about gaining too much weight you can start stocking up on the fruits & veggies.  When one of my friends was preggers she would constantly have snacks with her (carrots, apples, etc.).  Whenever she got hungry she at those.

Sidenote:  Gyros are the BEST!!!  I love love loooooovvvveeee the tzatiki sauce!  DH & I also use the sauce to dip our fries in.  YUM!

Holy CRAP Gina!!!  No we don't have one of those eateries, which is probably good, because that sounds AWESOME right now!

I am 5'7" and was 132lbs before being pregnant.  (Dang, I weighed 108 in high school, girl! You were skinny and you STILL are!)  I weighed in Wednesday at 138 and I HAVE to blame some of that on boobs.

What's the guideline, a pound a week until 32 weeks or so?  If that is the case I think I am tracking OK right now, but I am scared of getting fat.  I'm scaring my husband a little bit.

    Guidelines? HAHA....
I was told to EAT...because I was underweight. The target was 35-45lbs and I went beyond that hehee. I wasn't concerned about the fat because I was planning to breastfeed and that took care of that! lol..

The hollywood types gain what...10-15lbs total? if that? You won't be able to eat as much after 8 months because of the indigestion and stomach being compressed so factor that in! So factoring in you might be sick the first months and physically unable the last...as far as I am concerned your body will tell you what it needs and you should listen.

Making tzatziki sauce (the stuff they put on gyros) is just about the easiest thing on the planet.

Let me know if you want the recipe for it - it's great for dipping veggies in and that would be a good low-fat snack.

I had to find the recipe online just to know for sure how to spell it.  [sm=lol.gif]  I'm gonna have to make some SOON!

I am planning to breastfeed also.  I heard that really helps you lose weight.

Am I being naive enough to think that I'll have the energy to work out during my maternity leave?  I envision myself with one of those baby jogger strollers, kiddo sleeping and the dog alongside me....

    Am I living in fantasyland?

Oh and by the way I have no sickness whatsoever...nor did my mother...I am not anticipating any interruptions in this eating fest.

McCalister's Deli has those super size spuds....they are called "Spud Max".

Those suckers are huge.........they weigh a pound, can you imagine eating a pound of tater with toppings......wow......[8D]

Someone came by a few minutes ago and said that our Accounting department has cupcakes - it's a good thing no one else was going for one at the same time or they would have drawn back a stump!

(I just noticed that when I tried to write "came" in my sentence above, I typo'd the word and wrote "cake" first.  LOL!  I am ridiculous).

I don't know. Mine kept saying things like "Big Mac" and "donut"!
BTW, you don't always lose weight with breastfeeding, that's kind of an individual thing, like the getting morning sickness or not. I gained weight during breastfeeding, even when I was eating right. I used to have a book, but loaned it out and never got it back[&:] titled something like "How to Really Lose the Weight Your Dr. Promised You Would While Breastfeeding", so it isn't just me!

Don't worry about gaining too much weight and keeping it on post-pregnancy.  Breastfeeding does help most women, and if you're planning on excercising that definitely helps.  I weigh less right now at 12 1/2 weeks (and showing) than I did before I got pregnant the first time.  It worked out for me that I ate a lot while I was pregnant, but after I was done my body told me how much to eat...my portion control was a lot better, and breastfeeding did help a lot.  At the end of a year post-baby I weighed about 10 lbs less than I did before I got pregnant.

As for the working out thing...maybe after about a month and a half you'll want to start.  You'll probably be a little sore until then, and your doctor probably won't want you to work out or do the whole intercourse thing until your six week checkup, anyway.  If you've got a three month maternity leave, that should at least give you enough time to get motivated and start working out again.
