    Kid Question

I need quick help with a sort of etiquette thing, I guess. I signed my 3 year old niece up for this craft class starting today at 10 am, and this morning she comes to me not feeling good. She's got a little cough, a stuffy nose, and she LOOKS sick. That said, it doesn't seem to be affecting her much. She's happy, playing, fine, and wants to go. I'm thinking we shouldn't go, because I think it's rude to take a sick 3 year old into a room of 3-6 year olds. Her mother acted like that was silly and as long as she's feeling okay enough to go, I should take her. Any opinions??

You're right.  If she just started getting sick, it could get worse.  Also, I do not like it when sick kids come to school, et cetera.  Not  taking her is just being considerate and I know I appreciate your thinking.

Hmmm....if it's just a class I'd probably leave her home. Even if she doesn't give anything to anyone...she's obviously at a low point immune wise if she's JUST getting something and might be more vulnerable to picking up something worse. That's just me tho.
Kids are germ factories even when they're well lol!

Okay, good, just wanted to make sure I wasn't nuts. [:D]

Another question.. What should I do about not showing up? I can't for the life of me find a phone number to call (the class is through the city.. I guess I could call the city??) to say we're not coming today, but would still like to come next week (it's five weeks). There's also some form I have to fill out and hand in the first day, plus a materials fee. I guess I need to go down there? But if Alleen wants to stay, I'm going to have to carry her out of there upset, which doesn't sound like fun, nor does it sound like it'd make for a very happy day. I don't have anyone to leave her with. [&o]

I don't know what to do.. Why'd she have to get sick today? Couldn't she have waited til tomorrow when she'll be home with her Mom? [:D] Just kidding!

I'd try to call...and avoid taking her down there if at all possible because she will get upset about leaving.
Or you could just take your chances next week!

You could try looking on-line. Usually parks and rec, or whatever dept. it's through will have even on-line registration. I agree, keeping her home was a good idea. Sometimes it's hard to tell when kids get sick what exactly they're going to get and things can happen fast. I had my oldest at the dr. for a sore throat one day, they said it didn't look like strep, then 2 hours later she's got 102 degree fever, lethargic and we're at the urgent treatment center and the dr there says oh yeah, it's strep.
