Dress size/fit question...

A wedding dress thread would be fun, where all married people posted them lol.

ooh, ooh, ooh - that WOULD be fun... but, actual DRESS shots.  Don't cut off half of it in favor of a pic of the cake.  It's often fun to look at wedding stuff that you are in NO WAY associated.  Having been in something like 6 weddings (and another this fall), they lose all the fun when you're battling the monstrousness of brides/families/maid-of-honor-turned-tyrants/cash flow problems/etc..

I agree you want to be totally in love with the dress and be very comfortable, fooling with it i sthe last thing you want to be doing.  I remember I didnt touch mine all night.  I forgot to take my veil off at the reception though and was sort of aggravated that I didnt get any pics without it on.

Ill start a dress thread when I can get to my moms comp where all those pics are saved, none on mine.  Unless someone else starts it before then.[:D]

Jones, I think it's beautiful and aptly reflects your easy-going, casual style!  The bottom line in terms of fit, is that you need to be completely comfortable in the dress.  You look beautiful, that's not a worry - but if you're concerned about boobage, then it's not going to work.  Try taping those suckers down and see if it makes a difference.

Jones - I am glad you ordered the other one to compare.  I second what miranadobe said, the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable or self conscious.  You will have enough to think about that day without having to worry if someone is checking out your cleavage [:D] Personally, I don't think it looks that way, but it's what you are comfortable with that counts!

Ooh, Sarah, now you've done it, I like the dresses on White House Black Market! I may try a couple of those too. Right now I have my second choice dress coming, and I'm also exchanging the original one for a size up. I have a good 7 months to play with dresses so I'm not too worried, still having fun with it. [:)]

I would love to see everyone's wedding dresses if anyone wants to post...

Alright, you're wanting pictures....I'm at work, so I am limited with the pictures of my dress (I'll post more when I get the chance).  The best way I can describe my dress is that it looked like it was from Romeo & Juliet.  It has an empire waist, the material was a chiffan type.  The sleeves went ALL the way down to the bottom of my dress.  I also have what my friend called "wings"  they attached to my shoulders and were as long as my train.  OH!  Also, my veil was the same material as the sleeves and the "wings".  It was also as long as the wings.  I LOVE my dress.  I wish I could wear it more often than just the one day!

Also Erin, have you tried checking out the different dress shops in Omaha?  I got my dress in Lincoln at a place called Bridal Outlet on 27th steet (north of Cornhusker Hwy).

Edited to get the picture to show. Also sorry the picture is so big.

White House Black Market is my favorite store.  That and Cache.  O lordy what a guilty pleasure those two stores are.  I try to stay out of them but they seem to draw me in.  I cant be at the mall without going in and then my budget is busted.   The clothes are beautiful and different though, not to mention wonderful quality.

Melinda your dress is so pretty, I love the long flowy sleeves.  I know I wish I could wear mine again for something, but I cant lol.

jones, if there is one piece of advice I CAN offer, it is that when you put on the "right" dress, you'll know - instantly.  And I know that because I tried on every dress in FOUR bridal shops lol.  When I put on the dress that I am having, I knew it was THE dress before they even had it zipped up.  Your wedding is more informal than mine, but I still think the same rule applies.  You'll know instantly what you feel amazing in, and you shouldn't settle for anything less on that day of all days.

Have to agree with Kate 100%.  When you find the perfect dress,  you'll know ... and you won't want to change anything about it.
