I thought I heard the clip say he's 17.  Looks like his DOB is 7/23/1989.. so, he's not yet 18....

The Today Show did a big story on this today.  They said he's 17.  When you think about how many people in London will see this play vs. how many worldwide watch his movies, I don't think there's much to worry about for his career!

Why some people are up in arms about it is beyond me.  Don't go to the play and that will solve all your problems!!  [;)

First off, he's British and honestly they see such stuff SO differently.  There he's considered 'of age' (over 16).

He's in great danger of being utterly typecast.  Think of how many of the Star Trek folks have ever broken out of those roles that made them famous?  Happens with fame and some folks are determined enough to break out of it and others aren't.  Even Seinfeld finds it hard to do anything other than 'himself' because it's what people expect.  Equus is a pretty serious play -- Richard Burton did Equus ... it should help get him seen as a serious actor if anything will.

Now do I want to see him in the all together? Nope -- but then that's just not my kind of play either.  I'm sure he figures it's worth the risk to be taken seriously.

Equus is about a mentally ill teen who is helped by a psychiatrist. It's very intense and very prestigous. I think it's a great way to break out of being typecast, which is what would definitely happen to Daniel Radcliffe if he didn't do *something* to stop from being "Harry Potter."

Equus is NOT a sexual play. The nudity is not about sex.

He obviously wants to act. He must be a very good actor if he can win the lead in Equus.

He didn't sign on to dedicate the rest of his life to children! He signed on to play a role in seven movies and then move on. "Harry Potter" got him his big break. That's all. He has the right to live the rest of his life.

I think it's great he's doing something other than Harry Potter.  His choice to do this play, and it's a serious play.  I'd guess it'd be a good challenege for him as an actor.  If you don't want to see Danielle Radcliffe in all his glory, then don't go.  ;)  Besides it's not like it's Harry Potter nude,  it's Danielle Radcliffe, who is an actor and has the right to play whatever roles he chooses.
