Ugh, what a way to start the day

Ugh, what a way to start the day

In less than 2 hours I have to go have a bunch of vaccinations and booster shots.  I hate needles.  Crying  Really nasty experience when I was in the hospital before Christmas and now I don't want to be anywhere near a needle.

However, to make you all sick with jealousy, the reason I need the shots is because in 3 months, I am going here:

TWO big fat needles!  Luckily they were combo vax or there would have been more!  5 vaccinations in total.  THANKS! [;)]

Well you know me, I'm an every-cloud-has-a-silver-lining kinda girl.  I was merely pointing out that my holiday is the good part of having to have those shots.  [;)][;)]

My arms are KILLING me...hurts to move them.  The nurse warned me that I might feel a bit sore and stiff, but she gave me the impression that any reaction wouldn't show up for a few days, and this has only been several hours.

Anyone know if I need to be worried, or what I can do to ease the pain?

Well, I'm completely jealous but hopefully we'll have lots of pictures when you get back from your trip.

I think putting warm compresses on the sore arms will help.  I'm pretty needle-phobic myself, so I understand how you felt.  I'm pretty sure I could put my phobias aside for a trip like this though [:)]

Thanks Cathy!  I will try the warm compresses.  Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't both arms lol.  And it's been a long time since I needed to be vaccinated against anything.  It hurts a lot more than I expected it to, and now I feel icky as well.

You will all get lots of pictures, I promise.

What vaccines did you get? Some people react more strongly than other. I always give my kids Tylenol right before the dr. visit, so that it hurts less and helps keep swelling/fever down before it starts. Should've read this post sooner to tell you that! BTW, I always get a super strong reaction to tetnus. Last time my arm hurt for over a month and it was black and blue at the site and that night I actually cried it hurt so bad. Meanwhile DH was barely sore. I have since learned there's two kinds of tetnus, and one does hurt more than another!

No really, that place looks beautiful!
Maybe you can call the Dr and ask if what your feeling is normal.

The doctor can stab me with as many needles as he/she wants if I get to go on vacation or honeymoon there.

I had Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Diptheria, Tetanus and Tuberculosis done.  The  Tetanus shot isn't recommended specifically for travel but I hadn't had a booster in about 9 years so they did that one anyway.  If I still feel this lousy in the morning then I am going to call the doc.

LMAO Amy, I can't believe I am not getting any sympathy.  [;)]

LOL! It does look nice, doesn't it?  To be fair, it is my honeymoon.  I don't usually get to take trips to places like that lol.
