Some meds give me vertigo, my sons both did it to me in the first six weeks of pregnancy (lol), I had a really bad bout after my accident, and now I get very mild vertigo associated with migraines (I'm having some right now - had to cut short a shopping trip for it).
It's horrendous. If it persists even if they can't find a medical reason, make sure they look into vestibular exercises. Doing these is what fixed the vertigo I had after the accident. I had a slight injury to my inner ear apparently, at first, but that healed quickly. The brain, however, was still out of whack and the exercises fixed that.
You think of vertigo as things spinnng but it's not that. You get this sense that things aren't "right" and you have to very exremely careful. Like the floor is not at the right height - there are unfamiliar and moving bumps and curves in it. If you put your hand out or turn your head wrong you might tip over, even if you are sitting down. If you move too fast you might not bring all of you, with you. Talking on the telephone is a chore because you lose track of your eyes and get sick from their tracking around randomly. And of course constant nausea because it's like being on a really brutal rollercoaster ride that was advertised as an "A" ride - only you are the only one feeling it! And people aren't very sympathetic because vertigo is just being a little dizzy, right?
I used to take balance for granted but not anymore! Best wishes for your daughter's recovery.
