    cowboys season over

well the cowboys just lost their wild card play off game by 1 point. they had the game won and screwed up a late 4th quarter field goal attempt.

at least the colts won. peyton wasnt playing too good today, but their defense stepped up and played better than they have in a while. if the colts lose to the ravens next weekend, then my football season is over. go colts!

Yep, DH has some pretty choice words to say about the person who screwed up at the very end!

The Cowbys have been my favorite team even when I was in California, where I was born. I have watched them since they were an expansion team in 1969. They quickly became the team to beat. They always made it to the play-offs. I've seen plenty of embarrassment since Jerry Jones took over ownership. Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson, though each used different language, were both stern and firm and consistent. And it reflected in the teams they developed. They had gone to and won two Superbowls in a row and were going to do it a third time, which would have been a league record, when Johnson was sent packing.

Fortunately, the coach we have now is old school and the first thing he did was deny Jones field privileges and to not allow Jones to call plays from the press box. That's why the Cowboys got as far as they did. Let the coach do his job. And, quit babysitting. He's not about to put up with prima donna crap, like Jones did with some players. You have to go back to the Johnson mindset. "My way or the highway." And mean it. You'd be surprised how well people do once they know the boundaries and expectations are.

I think the Cowboys will get better as long as they keep this same coach and let him do his job.

and get rid of terrell owens. he may be talented, but not what the cowboys need.

Seattle had to drag people in off the street just to play the game, but still the Cowboys couldn't beat them.  There might have been a questionable call or two in the game, but if the Cowboys were worthy of being in the playoffs, they would never have allowed the game to be close enough for bad calls to matter.  Not as beat us as Seattle is.

I was so laughing my butt off...lol. What a great way to go out with 'the second coming of Troy Aikman' messing up. I am sure that Carrie Underwood had a lot of "cheering up" to do that night!

I noticed Romo started playing worse when he started dating her and then they let the girl on the field before a GAME...that was really too much. No tail on the field aside from cheerleaders...I thought that was Man-Law!!

    LOL

I cannot believe they voted Romo to the probowl...[sm=biggrin.gif]

I am glad the Eagles got in...even tho Garcia is a bum. Always a shame to see Eli lose tho, I have a soft spot for that kid.

It is hard to imagine football fans more serious about the game than those in Denver.  When the Broncos lose, they get shot.  [:o]

Billy I actually did think for a second when the news broke, that "someone must've lost a BIG bet"...

It was very sad tho.....think they have someone in custody now..or at least "a person of interest".

    I know, we shouldn't laugh.

My kid, who lives in the Denver area, says they have a suspect.

When I first heard the story, I wondered how anyone could do a drive by anything, in Denver.  Brian said they have 48 inches of snow.  I certainly wouldn't want to be driving around in that.

He reminds me a little of Deon Sanders, who played four games one season because his toe hurt. Or, Hershel Walker, who was more interesting in his career running stats. If you don't coddle the prima donnas and expect everyone to pull their weight or they are off the team, then you would be amazed at the improvement in performance.

i agree ron. he is too much like deion. problems with your personal life or with the media or whatever should never be in the news more than your performance on the field. if all the news stories about t.o. had to do with a spectacular play or good stats i would not have a problem with him.

also, as much hype as he has gotten if the ball is thrown where he can get his hands on it, it should be a catch. he has dropped way too many passes this year. i think terry glenn is a much better overall receiver than t.o. plus we dont have to put up with all the negative press.
