Reading the blogs of people you don't know is perfectly normal. Many blogs are out there just for that purpose (and you can easily tell the ones that aren't because they're hideously boring unless you're a friend or relation of the blogger!). I don't read any dog blogs currently, but I follow about 100 blogs of other types (knitting, fandom, feminism, Canada, random things).

Do you use a blogreader? A service like [linkhttp://www.bloglines.com]Bloglines[/link] makes it easy to follow blogs without having to check them individually, and it's easy to set up. I think Google has a blogreader, too, and there are a million others, I'm sure. With a service like that, instead of checking that blog every day to see if it's been updated, your blogreader will tell you when that happens.

Now I'm curious about dog blogs. Hmmm ....

i never said it was a dog blog [;)]

edit: i was checking out bloglines a little while ago. most of the blogs i have looked at can be subscribed to using live bookmarks in firefox too. but i do like going to the blogs just to check on 'em.

Oh, I didn't necessarily think it was, I just found myself wondering, this being a dog forum and all. ;)

I haven't had much luck with the Firefox live bookmarks. First, you have to remember the titles (or dates) of all the posts to be able to tell if they've updated (because the "bookmark" creates a folder of links, the topmost of which is the most recent), which may be feasible for a few sites but not for a dozen or more. Second, they often just won't work, which is frustrating. I like everything else about FF, but that feature just doesn't work (for me).

I don't blog myself but I do love reading them.  I am one of those people that even if I don't know you, if there is in any way I can relate or even just find interest, I am totally interested.  I read the blogs to a few of the people on my favorite morning radio show almost every day.  I also like reading people's myspace blogs...I know most of those people in one way or another....whether I actually know them or not.  It is kind of like visiting a forum and feeling like we know each other b/c we all converse with each other and start to know who knows or is intersted in what but most of us have never actually met.

Call me nosey, or living vicariously through other people, or whatever, I love reading an intersting blog whether I know the author or not.  There are actually a few people on this forum that have very interesting blogs that they link in their sigs.

I rarely post my own... and read my friends when they post suff....  Ive never really been interested in peoples that I dont know.

I actually just posted about my very dumb escapades on new years, hope I dont offend anyone with the "retard" comment at the end... to me, I guess its cultural.....  [:)]  Ive seen other posts about it so please refrain... I get it, its just me....  I dont mean offense...

My blog is in my sig. You are all welcome there, of course. And often I have Sofia stories, and lots of other stuff.

I have a blog on My Space. I call it "Pharmacy Follies" and it tells the horror stories of what I have to deal with at my job. For some strange reason, a lot of people find it humorous.

I love your blog Meilani, boy if anyone needs a good laugh that's the place to go. [:D]

I read a few blogs, I use kinja as a 'reader.' I actually just started writing my own yesterday (how timely this thread is) so there's only one post but if anyone's interested you're welcome to read it. It's not funny or all that juicy... just me trying to stay in the habit of writing. [linkhttp://nowenteringthegoodlife.blogspot.com/]http://nowenteringthegoodlife.blogspot.com/[/link]

My blogs are sometimes random info to share, or observations of humanity, or often just a chance to flex my fingers in an effort to someday write something worth publishing. Like practice, I suppose.  I save the extra-personal stuff for my preferred readers.

If someone is interesting, I read their blogs - strangers or friends.

i have read your blog a few times and it is worth a laugh.

most of the other blogs i read, i just found through random searches. the ones i have been reading are interesting, but sometimes i wonder are these people writing about their lives or is it just fantasy. i know my life is not interesting 99% of the time.
