Mine's the best, that's for sure (and not just because of this).  The funny thing is, we don't usually make big deals out of birthdays, but he knows how much I love bullriding (even as a kid it was my favorite event), and now I've got him hooked, too.  He never even flinched about going to Cabela's last year to meet some of the riders.  And that was during a tropical storm.  Yeah, my guy's the best!  [:)]

I went to a holiday party recently and bonded with a new guest over PBR - she's a HUGE fan, and now her hubby is, too.  She certainly knew a ton about it, and her husband was evidently catching up and loving it.  You lucky dogs!  [;)]

Like I said, even as a kid, bullriding was my favorite rodeo event.  Can you imagine how thrilled I was when we had to get cable (we moved to where there was no tv reception without it) and I discovered an organization that was only bullriding?   Immediately, I liked this guy named Owen Washburn ( my dad's name was Owen).  My husband started getting interested when he realized the last name- my mil's maiden name is Washburn.  My husband is really into genealogy.  He hasn't made the exact connection yet, but they are related (my husband and Owen, that is).  He may not remember most of the rider's names, or bullfighters for that matter, but he can make somekind of connection about them (he might reference the bullfighter who broke his neck 3 times before retiring, then ask me his name).  It's gotten to the point that I know a lot of the bulls, too.

I don't know how you can watch that stuff. See guys get squished by bulls? No thank you!! [8D]

Riders in the Sky once played at the fair here, but it was after the bull riding was over and the tickets included going to the bull riding first. We waited until it was over before going in to hear the music!
