I was simutaneously in college and starting electrical work in 1983, when "Down Under" was getting big. "Overkill" was the next big hit. Of the original band members, one has died, one went on to be come a teacher, and Colin Hayes, the singer, went on to be a record producer.
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,
"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."
I was about 19, strong as an ox and I knew everything.
Now, I'm old and get a clearer idea every day of how much I don't know.
