How about Eragon?

    How about Eragon?

I know there were a couple of people here who wanted to see the movie. Anyone get a chance this weekend? I saw it right after I finished the book. That was a mistake because the book was too fresh in my mind. But I'll save my critique until others post. Wouldn't want to give anything away. [:D]

I am a book person. I read these two a while ago but they were well written enough that they stick with me. So having said that...and having viewed the trailer, and read numerous reviews by people who have also loved the books...I can tell they completely abandoned the book's story and timeline and I'm not interested.

Had I NOT read the book then I would have gone to see it...simply because I believe movies of this genre need support, or they will not make more of them...they're few and far between anyhow. BUT I am first and foremost a book person...and I can handle straying a bit, if  the spirit of the story remains...and I cannot see that from the title...ERAGON...they did so. So I'll save my $9 bucks lol.

I'm reading Eldest right now, but Eragon was a fantastic book. I knew they'd probably screw up the movie, because they usually do. But I was pretty disappointed that they didn't stick more closely to the story. Some of the cinematography reminded me of a made for tv movie. It was a little cheesy.

But I went with a friend who had never read the book and she really liked the movie. So overall the movie must be pretty good, just not if you've read the books.

I read the book when it first came out, I have "Eldest" now and have not started it yet.  I really want to see the movie and might use my day off on christmas to do so. [:D]
