Straw Poll

Hillary Clinton - maybe. i dont agree with alot of her politics, but things were good when we had a clinton in the white house before.

Barak Obama - too soon to tell. the media love him, but i havent really heard much about what he stands for.

John Kerry - no way. i voted for him in the last election because he was "the other white meat" so to speak. but lately, he has really shown his true colors and i disagree with most of what he is saying and doing.

Rudy Guiliani - nope. i dont like his politics. i think his rise in popularity after the 9/11/01 stuff is unwarranted. i think he was given way more respect than he earned.

Mitt Romney - never heard of him

John Edwards - nice guy, but i dont think he is a front runner or a party leader.

Whoever else you think might run - i am looking for a strong third party candidate that is willing to stand up and passionately state his opinions (even if they arent the politically correct ones). right now the differences between the two parties is very minor and superficial. we need someone who is willing to shake thngs up. i am not talking about a crackpot like ross perot either. anyways, i am not sure who this candidate it or even if he/she exists right now.

I'd vote for none of the above. I'll vote only for the Libertarian candidate. It might be "throwing my vote away" in a figurative sense, but it's standing for what I believe in.

i have voted for plenty of third party candidates and not just in the presidential election. i never see it as throwing my vote away so long as i feel comfortable voting for the person. i base my choices on what the person's stance is on things i feel strongly about. party line is secondary to that. Hillary- Abso-friggin-lutely!
    Obama- Yes.
Kerry- Notsamuch, but I'd vote for him over most every Republican.
Guiliani- Gag me with a spoon! I wouldn't vote for him if you put a gun to my head (well, maybe then, but you get the point).
Romney- I've only heard of him because my best friend lives in MA. But no. He just seems like a slime ball.
Edwards- Sure. Liked him in 04, would like him in 08. Maybe not my first choice, but he'd do.

I'm hearing Jeb talk, and if that happens, I will shoot myself.

Barbara Boxer seems like she might be considering it, and I'd vote for her. Hey, anyone who shares a name with a dog breed can't be too bad, can they? Especially a breed you grew up with! [;)]

McCain is, I think, the only Republican I would even consider considering. [:)]

Evan Bayh seems like a decent guy, but definitely need to learn more about him.

Vilsack is, I think, the only person who has officially said he's running? What a name. President Vilsack? Don't think there's a chance. [:D] I don't know much about him, honestly.

Condi Rice?? Another gag me with a spoon. I hate her with a passion. There's just something about her... and she has evil eyes. Look at them and tell me I'm not right!

I can't think of anyone else.

when the popular vote becomes the deciding factor in the presidential election, i will get my merry little arse out to the polls, but until that happens, if ever, i see no point. i would really like to see a third party voted in, but that doesnt seem to be looking to be at good odds either.i think the system needs some serious revamping, is it too much to ask that the nominee with the most votes wins [&:]

True Evan Bayh made the annoucement yesterday.  He did an excellent job for us as governor and also is doing an excellent job as one of our Senators.  He would have gotten my vote as well as his father Birch, another great former Senator from Indiana.

I am still evaluating the field.  Senators do not seem to do well in getting elected, last one being Kennedy.  So if republicans put up Jeb, which is very likely, a Dem Senator will have hard time.  I would like to see which US Rep enters.

    Let's see.......

Hillary...maybe....because I'd love to see Bill back in the WH as "First Man" LOL!
Although, her socialist medicine push disturbs me!

    Kerry......no

Obama......maybe.....I don't know that his "greeness" will help or hurt him.  His foreign policy experience is about equal to what Bush had and he got elected....TWICE!!

Guiliani.....no.  Too conservative and he cheated on his wife.

Edwards......no way!  He made his fortune in life on medical malpractice ambulance chasing, and that goes against my grain as a nurse.

    McCain.....no.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Clinton/Obama ticket and then see what the Republicans can come up with to match.  They'd need a woman at least.

Unfortunately, I don't think a third party candidate will ever be elected, since we are, and always have been, a two party system.  Unless someone gets the nomination of one of those two parties they're pretty well out of the picture as far as getting elected.  I agree that the system needs major revamping and  the first thing I would do is get rid of the electoral college. Whoever gets the most votes - wins. That's the way every other election goes, whether it's a seat on the city council or the gubernatorial election. Why should the presidential election be any different?

    Al Gore

Even though I am a conservative (not registered to any party), I admire Gore for his dedication to the environment. Even with no political advantage, he has continued in his quest to care for the environment. He is a man of principles and will do things that are necessary, whether they are politically popular, or not.

Hillary - no, because I think she is a socialist. And only that reason. I could care less what her husband did. She is a mind and thinker in her own right and should be judged on her own merit and politics.

I wish Rice would run. She's got some guts and I think she's strong enough to handle the job.

I'm not seeing any strong republican candidates at this time and so, the democrats will win, otherwise it would be a tough battle.

the more people i talk to the more talk about wanting to see a third party candidate elected. i think if a truly amazing candidate emerged from a third party we could see that person elected. i think it is a remote chance, but it may happen. i mean presidents have not always been affiliated with either the republicans or democrats. maybe someday we will see a fall of one or both parties and an emergeance of other parties.

    vive la revolution!! [:D]

I'm in Canada, but hey for fun...

I'd love to see a Clinton/Obama ticket.... but a woman and a man of colour all at once? Hard to imagine that getting past all the bigots...

I admire Al Gore alot. He just needs someone to jolt some personality into him.

Condi... hmmm..... she's so smart and I'd like to think that without Bush over her she would branch out and do things differently.

I can't stand Hillary Clinton, she is such a liar.
After 9/11 she made a statement about her daughter jogging around the World Trade Center, she was no way near that place.
What woman would lie about her own child like that?

I rather don't want to see the clintons in the whitehouse again.  Aside from lying, the clintons also cause over 10,000 worth of damage when they left, and they stole an autuman or someething like that. 0.o Weird people.

I have always thought this country will elect a black president before they will elect a woman.  I haven't changed my mind on that to this point.

As a hard core republican, only in my wildest dream will the dems nominate Hillary.  A move like that though will be the only way our next president will be a republican.

I got a chuckle out of someone who said Hillary is "too conservative."  How liberal do you have to be to think Hillary is anywhere near conservative?

In the last 6 months or so,they have tried to shove her more towards the middle, but it is what it is.......
