Thanks! Your tree looked great too! I like the picture of your dog about to munch the teddy bear!

No tree for me this year, infact I've never had a x-mas tree of my own...  someday...

My mom goes crazy about the tree, it's a fake but it takes her almsot 2 weeks to put it together and decorate it.  No one is allowed to touch it, ever.  She makes sure it all matches and the lights all twinkle just right with corrasponding orniments that also have their perfect shine.  I'm even afrade to go in the living room during the tree decorating time.  It's in the "setting the lights stage" right now, I'll try to post a pic once it's done, may take anouther week.

As promised a pic of my mom#%92s tree, yep did take a whole week from the last time I posted to finish it.[;)]
She is still looking for the perfect star to put on the top.

Awww!  You guys have inspired me w/all these cheerful holiday pics!  I was going to skip the tree and such (less stress, save $, etc).  But now I want to do it.  Will be adding pics to this thread this weekend.  THANKS guys, for sharing!  Starting to get a little holiday spirit, in spite of no snow on the ground...[:D]

Anybody remember those hideous silver aluminum trees  that came out in the 50s?  The ones that had a color wheel light at the bottom that made the tree look yellow, then blue, then red? My parents actually bought one of those and a few months ago I saw one in a catalog (50s nostalgia I guess) that was up around $400.  I could NOT believe it. [:'(]

What I want to know/see is if anyone still uses angel hair?!?!  I figure nobody here uses tinsel because of the animal-attraction and subsequent "extraction" if you catch my drift... (eating it and then pooping it out..)

But the first time I saw a tree covered in angel hair, I was literally scared!  It looked like Halloween cobwebs!

That sounds really pretty, but I don't think I've ever seen a tree with Angel hair. When I hear Angel hair, I think pasta. [:D] I remember tinsel from when I was a kid, but I've never used it on my own trees.

You know, I had only heard about those trees, like they were some sort of fairy tail or something.  I just had to see what the big deal was so I looked it up….errrmm… ya…

I'll take pics soon.  We put up ours after Thanksgiving so it's been up for a couple weeks now.  It's so pretty.

We used to put tinsel on the tree at home (real tree too) but once I left for college, our kitty kept getting into the tinsel and eating it, so they quit using it.  I wonder if they'll go back this year?   We dont' do tinsel because of the dogs either.  I even got their names on their stockings too.  :D

We put up our tree 2 days after Thanksgiving. We only put lights and tinsel on it since Static kept climbing it. I have to redo branches almost every day.

Our tree is fake. I bought it in 1997, a week before we got married. DH went to work and I got a friend to help me buy the tree and the decorations. By the time he came home, the tree was already up and decorated. It was a great surprise.

My parents always buy a live tree. My mother's rule is that it MUST be taller than my father, who is 6'2. One year, they got a tree that was so tall and wide it took up the entire side of the parlor.

I never had one, but I soooooooo love retro and mid-century modern furnishings.  That's my real passion.  I collect all sorts of vintage/retro things and my livingroom is mostly all retro decorated.  If you go on Ebay, those old alluminum trees sell for a pretty penny these days.  I have a small version from Target that a friend gave me and I put it out every year.  Very retro!

But then again, all my kitchen appliances are pink!  Black & white checked floor, etc....you get the picture.  Dh has learned to live with the pink and just shakes his head when I get another box from Ebay!

We'll put our tree up this weekend.  I went fake a few years back and am glad I did.  So much less hassle, and I can practically put it up like an umbrella!

Ok got mine!  Included the puppers too.

No tree for us this year as Molly told me with her eyes that if I put one up she will not only eat the ornaments and the lights but the tree as well. Oh and the presents too no matter who they are for. But a (well) 6 month old pup is better that a christmas tree anytime.

All you guys have beautiful trees. Just wait till next year.
