we bought a tree saturday, but havent decorated it yet. we usually get a 9-10 ft tree, but this year we decided to get a tree short enough so that we could put it on a table. we are worried that sydney will be messing with it. the guy at the tree lot actually laughed when showed him the "charlie brown" tree we wanted. shortest tree on the lot.

Nice tree, Gina! I have finally gotten over my fake-tree phobia and that's what I plan to get when I do get my next xmas tree - which probably won't be this year. We just moved, money's tight, my boyfriend's on the road, and we don't even have enough furniture yet to have guests [sm=crazy.gif]. Next year, next year!

LOL fake tree phobia....that's good. Once you go fake you'll never go back, hehe.

I hear you...I think our first Xmas in our first apt together, we had one of those $10 table top trees....pretty sad!

I got fancy this year and even put a snowman out front and put tinsel on the mailbox and basketball goal lmao! If that's not Marth Stewart worthy I dunno what is...I mean...tinseled basketball goal....wow.

We went fake a few years ago.  I kind of miss the real pine smell, but I sure don't miss vacuuming up tree needles from under the furniture in July - or tree water spilling over on the carpet.

Tried to upload my picture, but having technical difficulties [:@] - sorry it's so big, and you can see why I don't post pics very often.  This is from last year, but since it's also artificial, it looks pretty much the same this year.  I did change the curtains though.  Despite Sassy's best efforts the musical bear survived but I'm not sure it'll make it thru this season [:)]

Awww. Cathy, she looks so pretty sitting there under the tree, all sweet and innocent. I have to tuck my little teddies up in the tree - they just look too much like stuffies. [:)]

Here is ours.  Of course I was trying to show my boss my ornaments so you can't see the whole thing.  I will try to get  a better one tonight.  Ours is fake too and we just bought it this year.  My mom let me have all the ornaments from when I was a kid and I am suppossed to split them with my brother when he gets a tree.  There was an entire box I didn't put on it there were so many.  There are some really cook ornaments and there are some that you plug into the lights and they move.  I catch DH admiring the tree on a daily basis and there is this one ornament that has these 2 elves working away.  It is one of the moving ornaments.  DH make the comment every day about how hard they are working on his socks and underwear he will be getting.

we always had a fake tree growing up. my mom would never let us get a real tree no matter how much we begged. i swore when i had my own place and got ready for a tree it would always be real. so far it has been, but my wife started the fake tree talk this year. i really want to stay with a real tree so i hope this is a passing interest.

    Cool trees!

I haven't taken pictures yet, but I set up my tree (fake, naturally lol) at my grandpa's house (he lives next door)  because the cats are tree climbers. It's been decades since my grandpa's had a Christmas tree, and even though he really can't see it much, he decided that he wanted to move the tree into his living room instead of another nearby room so I think he's happy about having it there.[:)]

I will have to post in a few days when i get a chance to take pictures. It's too dark right now to get a really good one with the digital. I do 2 trees. A small one in the kitchen, and a larger one in our big livingroom. The small one is my favorite. It's one of those skinny trees with the long trunks, and branches that start halfway up. This year I decorated it with old black and white family ;photos, my grandmothers silver spoons, and birdnests / birdhouses. It looks really great, and was so much fun to decorate. I just go around the house and find neat things that go together. I also "planted" the tree in a giant terra cotta pot. I love it!

Our big tree has all the nice ornaments on it. I buy a few new ones every year after Christmas (on sale). I have a cream and gold theme on that tree, it's really beautiful, but I keep it in our big livingroom to save it from the cats!

That is so sweet of you and I'm sure your grandpa appreciates it more than you can imagine [:)]

Okay I just took these, and they did not turn out too bad. I always think that trees are prettier in person, and the pictures don't really do them justice, but here they are anyway! The first 2 are my kitchen tree, and the last 2 are my big tree. See my earlier post for descriptions. I love to decorate for Christmas!!!!
