Animal Charities

Hey All -

I'm hoping you all can give me some suggestions on some good/legitimate animal charities. I donate a set amount to a different charity every month. Up to now it's mostly been charities for the two legged creatures but I'd like to incorporate the four legged ones I love so much into my monthly donations. Of course, I've already donated to the humane society a few times but I'd like to spread the wealth. Any suggestions for any charities that you all know or work with is appreciated.

This is the rescue group I work with: [linkhttp://hopeforanimals.com/]http://hopeforanimals.com/[/link] the group is based in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and for years, we were the only organization in the parish because there was no animal shelter (one finally opened a couple of months ago, but it's very tiny and not completed). We adopted Brown from HOPE in 2001, and I've been with them ever since, even when I moved out-of-state for a couple of years.

You can also just make donations to your local shelter - Money, food/treats, towels to use for bedding, toys, etc.
