Romantic Relationship with Someone You Met on the Internet???

My husband and I also met online, in a chat room, 5 years ago. We immediately became friends- we had very, very similar interests and we found out that we had actually grown up within 100 miles of each other.  He had a girlfriend, she dumped him after we had been chatting online for a year (just as friends!) and we promptly got together. He was in Boston, and I was in Georgia. We did the long distance thing and only actually got to see each other about twice a year for four years, until he got stationed here in Georgia and we got married this past July.

Yep, I tell people we met online. Alot of people think it's weird, and the ones who don't also assume we met through e-harmony. Doesn't bother me. [:)]

That is up in the air yet, for sure.

But don't worry.  No one will ever find out that you met your wife working in a massage parlor that you frequented.  No sir.  My fingers are sealed.  [;)]

My husband and I met in a chat room for an author that we both liked in '97, we moved in together '99 and married in '02. We tell people if they ask. Today though im not so sure it is safe to do what we did.

You boys are too much. Can ya tell I'm just to dam worn out to even poke fun. I mean, there were a few good ones I've had for the two of youo, but I just don't have the energy right now. LOL Don't worry though, once things settle down and I'm back to having nothing to do, I'll be on you both.

My husband and I met on the internet. It was through the singles pages of  a local yuppie-scene weekly paper. We met in March 1999, were engaged in Dec. 1999, married June 2000 and had our first child March 2001! Before we were married we were a little embarrassed by the fact we met on the net, so we just said we met at Starbucks, which is where our first meeting was. Now that we're married, I guess we figure it's a success story, so I don't mind sharing. Plus I'm older and don't give a rat's a** so much anymore what people think!

what kind of loser do you have to be to turn to the internet to meet someone?  [:)]

that is what i used to think too, but how is it much different than meeting someone in a dark bar?

    "how'd you meet?"
"we were the last two left standing at closing time."

    now that sounds kinda losery.

My husband and I met at college. We lived on the same floor in the dorms. We didn't meet online, but we were big losers, because we chatted online from down the hall all the time! [8D]

My mom and her now fiancee met on eHarmony.com a year ago. My parents had divorced after 25 years of marriage and I was the one who encouraged my mom to create a profile online to meet people. And sure enough, she did! [sm=biggrin.gif]

I have never been physically involved with someone on the internet but have chatted with someone who took my breath away. With every email that was received, my heart went pitter-patter. This person became my shining star and will remain to be my forever bright light. Circumstances keep us apart but never the less, I will always care deeply for him. Funny how some people can hold a special place in our hearts.[;)]

My ex started looking for his next wife on the internet right after he filed our divorce papers, before I'd even moved out.  I thought it was odd.  As it turned out, she was a complete nut, and even though she became his 4th wife, it was his shortest marriage at barely 14 months.  My son has quite a few stories of what he witnessed at their house.  Yeah, he's been in therapy for a long time, too.

Look at the bright side.  He's probably got a tiny little unit that would just leave you feeling frustrated.  [:)]
